Kalli, that was a pretty judgemental and not to mention ignorant statement. Why, have you met all the football players? I don't think you've been fortunate enough and even if you have, maybe you should think twice about dissing them because truth be told, it only makes you look ignorant and arrogant.

Some of them may fit the "jock" stereotype but who's to say? You? As for their wives/GFs, I don't like most of them either cause based on impressions, they STRIKE me as wanna-bes and trying-hards when in reality they actually (dare I say) look like #@$@ most of the time or are just typical girls who got lucky and nothing more.

But really, dissing them the way you did said more about you than it did about the people you put down. Besides, it was rather uncalled for and wasn't necessary.

I'm going to agree with most of what you said. Maybe not 99%, but footballers aren't famous for choosing the brainiest girls.
 
i dont think we should get so worked up over the comment kalli made. in some sense it had a lot of truth to it, but its all in good fun

My friends and I actually have fun and get a laugh out of seeing their typically mediocre to even fugly outfits. The funny part is when they strut as if they're hot crap when in reality, often times, it's the opposite! :p

OK,I`m not a big fan of football players,I think they`re overrated and get way too much attention,but I do have a couple of favorites and I like watching a good game from time to time so I`m not what you called a hater.Frankly speaking you shouldn`t have taken my comment so seriously,it was a joke people,maybe not a very good one but still a joke.I`m sorry if I ofended anyone,it really wasn`t my intention.

xxkissbangxx,could you tell me why my statement was "ignorant" and "judgemental",but her statement was acceptable?Has she met all the footballer`s wifes?We know them less than we know the football players.Don`t you think it`s hypocritical to get mad about my comment but not about this one?Or is it OK to insult people as long as nobody on this forum thinks they`re hot?

I simply stated my opinion in response to yours. Simple as that. I apologize if you took it personally (and if you did, you shouldn't have) or were offended but hey, this is a FORUM so you gotta deal with people's opinions just like they deal with yours.

I don't know exactly what impression you got but I wasn't "angry" (particularly at you, whom I've never met...err, I'm sorry but I'm just not the type of take a major piss at a person I've never even seen before on a public forum, particularly for simply stating her opinion, thanksverymuch) -- like I said, I just stated what was on my mind.

It didn't occur to me at that time (particularly since I didn't have enough time to read your entire post, just the part that the person before me quoted) that you were just, as you say, joking. But like I said, it's no biggie. I'm not pissed, especially at anyone in particular and if anyone's taken a piss at me, well, good for you. I couldn't care less! ;)

Btw, what I meant to say was that TO ME, it came off (that part, at least) ignorant and judgemental. I won't explain why anymore or should I say yet again but upon reading it, that's the impression that I got. Sue me. :)

As for your comment, let me repeat, I wasn't mad. Please, erase the that false impression. And you needn't quote Leonie's post for this. ;) Either way, if you want to keep arguing (and might I just point out how utterly useless and unnecessary it would be), sure, feel free to PM me. cmon girls. it sounds like neither of u are pissed off, but it can be so hard to read the emotions in people when we all post comments, you just go by what is in front of u.

Basically you aren't into football..I can handle that but is there a need to call footballers dumb? I play football and I'm not completely brainless (contentious subject but still). I know I came off strong but I completely :heart: football and potshots passed on as "jokes" would naturally elicit an aggressive response from me. Now in retrospect I apologize if I insulted you .
 
I`m sure there are plenty of intelligent players out there,but football players aren`t renowned for their wit so you will hear these kind of comments.
