to be honest freja doesn't even need campaigns anymore.
she's got a fragrance contract and a beauty contract - those are pretty much long term goals of every model!

Think of it this way: Freja is semi-retired. Every once in awhile some Asian brand if offering her lots of $$$ so she does a campaign for them.

But apart from that I think she is happy with the money she will get from Maybelline. There is no need to work more.

I guess there are other things in life she enjoys more than modelling now.

Same can be said about Daria Werbowy. I think Freja just doesn't like to work her a$s off anymore and why would she, she's one of the most successful and famous models ever.

Yes. But it's not like before. But I was actually aiming for Daria's 09-11 era, where she didn't do any top work aside from her contracts. And Freja is doing the same now she has the Valentino, Maybelline and Harry Winston contracts. Freja is truly iconic and as much as I want to see more work from her, I can totally understand why she's taking a break while still earning sh!t loads of money.

...I get anlabe's point. Neither of them are working like they did a couple of years ago. I think you could add Raquel and Malgosia into the same category. I don't think we'll ever seen Freja getting multiple blue chip campaigns every season again. Like Anable said with the current contracts she has why would she put the time into doing shows etc.

Those 'no-name' brands play incredibly well, much better than the a-list brands. This is the kind of career that many models aspire to: not having to slum it on all the runways, exhausting yourself very season. Having an a-list profile with some a-list contracts to keep you blue chip plus contracts with commercial brands that pay very well.

But she withdrew very abruptly and if I'm not mistaken she hadn't quite yet reached Daria's height, though she could have had she lingered a little longer. Well, it's only my understanding of it.

She's a very creative person and I can't help thinking she must be getting ready for the next season of her life. I'm sure she's up to something. I can't imagine her being known only as a semi-retired model in 7 or 8 years time.

That's exactly what I think, if she had stayed just a little bit longer she would have that icon status but she's just not quite there.
