French Online Webshops

Back in August last year (yes, this has been a long time coming ) I set out to see if I was missing out on great French e-shops / webshops

While we have a number of threads on French style and French style vs this and that I had noticed that we didn't have a thread in Shop Till You Drop specifically on French Online Webshops.

Seeing as there are so many great French labels - Isabel Marant, Vanessa Bruno, American Vintage, Maje, just to mention a few.. I couldn't help but wonder if the selection in the French webshops would be bigger, better and of course cheaper

So I contacted a lot of French tFSpotters to ask them for advice seeing as I could only think of la Redoute

Most of the time the feedback I got was

'I never buy clothes online, so I can't help'

..maybe an indication that the French are simply too sensible to buy something without trying it first..?

http://www.monshowroom.com < I can personally recommend Mon Showroom (bought stuff from them twice) as the website offers the possibility of changing the language from French to English and their selection is rather huge (especially on American Vintage) and discount codes are fairly easy to come by.

Judging by the country options when you try to set up an account with Place Des Tendences, they should ship to the following countries : Germany, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Spain and the UK

Ugh Helena.. now you made me look at the website as well..

I so want this Maje blouse.. I have it in white already...it's atleast 50% cheaper than the white I bought here in Denmark last year.. if you email them could you ask if they ship to Denmark as well ?

Re Place de tendance.. I emailed them to find out if they ship to Denmark and got this reply :

Nous vous informons que votre adresse ne peut être reconnue par notre site, car notre structure n’est pas adaptée aux envoies hors France métropolitaine.

Cependant, deux options s’offrent à vous :

1_ Vous connaissez une personne habitant en France et capable de faire le relais pour vous faire parvenir votre commande.
2_Possibilité de vous livrer à partir d'un montant de commande supérieur à 200€.
(NB : La livraison hors France métropolitaine est à titre exceptionnelle et si vous n’êtes pas certaine des produits ou des tailles, ce qui est tout à fait légitime, nous craignions que cela devienne finalement peu avantageux pour vous, si l’on considère les frais d’expédition.)

My french is sketchy ( Mariemaud help ?)..but as far as I can tell if you buy for more than 200€. they will ship outside of France..

but they are warning that if you are unsure of your size or fit of the pieces ordered shipping expenses might become high and not to the customers' advantage

Hanne - this is what I did.....I contacted them directly and a girl called Elricka helped me....you basically tell them your address and they arrange it to be sent to you....

nope.. besides.. my french is so sketchy (read : non existant) that I'd get my blouse sent to Timbuktu rather than Denmark if I were to communicate with them..
