Olivier Theyskens belongs at a Parisian house, not an Italian one. Lord no @ Michael Kors or Altuzurra, and if Hedi Slimane gets the job I'll lose my mind. I'm liking the idea of Haider Ackermann or Rick Owens though. I wouldn't mind Narciso Rodriquez either, but I can already see people in TFS complaining about how boring his collections will be. What about Stefano Pilati? I love almost everything he does.

The more I think about Haider Ackermann, the more it is perfect. I can go through each of his collections that would seamlessly work for Gucci. It's sexy and exciting, yet so luxurious. I think he could properly handle his own house and a major house like Gucci easily ! His material choices are spectacular and I have no doubt he could come up with some extremely coveted accessories.

I'm with you, that would be an excellent choice. He can be very feminine with is silhouettes, languid draping, layered silhouettes, and has one of the best eyes for color. I could also like to see that.

Yes !!! His eye for colour is exquisite. The buzz around the house would be insane. More insane than Altuzarra or even Tisci.

Theyskens is too talented for a luxury brand. He's the ultimate couturier. When he was at Rochas, people were saying he should work at a label who presents couture. In a perfect world, I'd like to see him at Dior, but thats for a different topic.

This is an unpopular opinion, but honestly I would love if they tapped Stefano Pilati. His job at YSL was successful, he actually boosted sales with the accessories and his collections were loved. I think he'd be great at an Italian label.

While Frida's Gucci was getting boring, it's hardly been the worst brand out there. Plus with Frida out, there's potential they get someone truly horrible as a replacement - especially if rumors about Tisci are true. On the other hand, they might pleasantly surprise. I'll remain cautious until we know who's stepping in.

I mean Wang was obviously well-established with huge numbers of clients when he was appointed. While Altuzarra makes sexy utalitarian-style clothes might be a good push for Gucci, I think he needs to develop his voice more. For me, he is such a one-note designer.

I would vote Haider, but I don't know if he is finished telling his story at his brand before moving to bigger house. He would do amazing things with leather there though, but I am not ready for him to make such a big jump.

For some reason, I think it would keep him fresh and allow him to keep telling his story at his own brand. He doesn't seem like he would burn out too fast.

I don't think they are going to pick a well-known designer but rather someone from the house. Indeed, Kering does not plan dramatic changes in the strategy and aesthetic of the brand so someone familiar with it appears to be logical to do a smooth transition.

Altuzarra in my opinion is still struggling to develop his own brand...

Picking someone from the Gucci house hasn't really worked for them in the past...
