Ok, so the season has oficially started and although we have already seen fur pieces on the pre-fall collections, the first fall-winter fur looks have made their apearences on the catwalks in New York.

fur played an important role as usual at Oscar de la Renta, this time mostly as accents made from sable and exotic mutations of fox.

Sable also made an appearance at Halston today as a chic, easy to wear style:

While grey mink was seen at Tuleh and Luca Luca:

Fox has yet to make an impression this fall, so far we have seen its shorter versions as opposed to last season, where longer haired ones told the story

Tomorrow is a big day for fur since both furriers J mendel and Dennis Basso are due to unveil their newest fur propositions.

Ombré furs

One of the trends emerging this season are ombré furs, it certainly takes the material forward!

Mink Touch

Another way to embrace fur next winter is through a simple mink scarf, if a full fur is a way to expensive option, here you have a more affordable way to keep your neck warm.

i knew you would start this thread, j'adore dior :p
i like the ombre effects
and i'm noticing more use of fur in the same colour as the rest of a garment
so, all just about change of texture

Some strange ones @ Etro

is it really fur ??

Maybe it is fur from a rastafari goat but it actually looks like wool to me, they remind me of some pieces from Balenciaga and Givenchy by Tisci and I wonder if they are execively heavy, they don´t look bad though.

Sac coats

A trend that extends not only to fur pieces, sac coats are emerging as a strong trend this next fall and probably evolved from "the boyfriend jacket" trend of this spring.
The modern techniques in fur dressing this days allow Mink skins to have a leathery back so you can have an unlined, reversible coat, like the ones shown here.

The last one is kinda Fendi-ish, but I still love it.

Exotic furs

Today exotic furs made an appearance on the Milan catwalks, Lippi cat, coyote, linx and squirrel were spotted both at Roberto Cavalli and Gucci, furs that have a retro connotation and ad the touch glam from an era gonne bye.

I'm no peta member but this season I'm kind of overwhelmed with all the fur. It seems unnecessary to me. Maybe it's cause I live in L.A. and it doesn't get that cold lol.

it's certainly true then fur is everywhere
