Gabriela Hearst S/S 2022 New York

Hahahahahahah.

Gabriela Hearst's PR should get a major bonus for trying to make her brand a thing. In terms of silhouettes, not only is it repetitive, but also uninteresting. It's visible that she's been trying to be the new Hermes, but she's far away from that level of sophistication and luxurious minimalism.

It feels cohesive and I really love several of the looks - all of the coats, specifically. The monochrome ones are the weak link, for me. I feel like I've seen them too many times before, but I guess you need a few simple/staple type pieces every season, boring though they may be, and they're probably the most marketable pieces.

At Gabriela Hearst "ugly knit" must be a very profitable product category, only that would explain the atrocities she inflicts on us season after season.

In short, these are clothes for the sartorially, and most certainly visually, impaired.

Yet another Hermès + Celine + Loewe mishmash of a collection from the NYFW. Seriously, stop. Please, stop polluting the world for THIS.

Anyway, yeah, her woman in mind is like 'hate my legs, but made peace with my arm cellulite', will insist that she's really not sweaty or melting at all under a gigantic knitted poncho in the middle of the summer, she cares about the environment and wants you to do the same but she's too serious about it and looks so suffocating you almost want to go and personally dump a bunch of plastic bottles into the ocean just to feel danger and toxicity for a change.

Seeing this tragedy and then realising that she's going to be giving us another shocker collection at Chloe in a few weeks just makes me sad.

It used to be exciting waiting for the other shows of designers that present or presented multiple collections: Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Miuccia Prada or Tom Ford. Now it's like knowing something awful and traumatising is about to take place and there's nothing you can do to stop it from taking place, like being tied to the train tracks and seeing the train slowly approaching.

I don't think she's a b*tch, but she's definitely basic. What a flaccid collection, keep it.
