No problem. Mine was just an FYI-type of statement too. I think European courts are more amenable to intellectual property lawsuits, regardless of the fashion criteria.
LOL, somebody had sent that Chanel ad as a response to a YSL perfume commercial I posted on YouTube many months ago. I didn't understand then or now why the Chanel ad was so special. And I totally missed the Godard reference, since the entire spirit of the _Le Mepris_ shot (its subversive rebellion against blatant sexuality) was lost. The Chanel ad is almost vulgar in comparison. So even if they were trying to use dear Jean-Luc to peddle perfume, it would have been lost on me.
Btw, I do know the YSL Cinema bottle is a direct homage to Line Vautrin, the sculptor (credit to Taz for pointing this out on the YSL thread). I think this is inspired appropriation, if any (and the bottle made me think of the opening credits of _Pierrot Le Fou_

Virginielle said:Of course it does---sorry, that was just an FYI statement. I assumed they'd be suing in Europe.. I meant that fashion isn't copyrighted, not art or advertisement.
