I don't understand why they're making a big fuss out of it. Were they really expecting Sarah to stay with Gap seasons after season? It's pretty much part of Gap's way of working to often change models.

I saw SJP ad on TV the other day, it's really cute. But I don't think she really fitted Gap's image, Joss Stone is probably more appropriate. But to each their own. :flower:

I feel the press is misconstruing this. Anyhow, I love SJP in these ads and I hope the separation is amicable. I love Joss Stone, but she's no SJP when it comes to fashion!!
 
i think it was amazing they stayed with her as long as they did...
the ads were obviously successful...

the timing of the announcement is a bit ridiculous though...imo...

I love the new t.v ads with SJP. I think it's kind of foolish on Gap's part though to drop her, yes they need to keep things fresh and moving along but the reason they gave is a little silly. Don't they think that teenage girls watch Sex and the City and idolize SJP. Just cause she isn't a teenager doesn't mean she wont reach that audience.
 
another sad thing happening to the fashion world recently......sjp was PERFECT for gap, very stylish and great personality! i just hope she gonna do other ads in the future as well, i would miss her otherwise......
 
SJP did not get dropped she was replaced with Joss stone after deciding not to sign a continuation...the word is that she might be clearing up some space in her diary for more homely affairs. Listen for the patters of more tiny feet and remeber where you heard it...

I would have this posted days ago, when i first heard about it, but I thought it was old news. teaches me to assume!

Joss Stone is a young fledgling british singer. She is sweet and doing her thang. She does not deserve to be called a b*tch IMO.

And finally it is said that SJP has accrued over 4millinon in advert revenues since the demise of SITC. she aint doing too badly and can afford to make choices...
 
I was disappointed to hear this a couple of days ago from my housemate. Personally I don't think joss stone suits the gap image or their audience and quite frankly I see her as a bit 'fuddy duddy' for a lack of better word at the moment. She doesn't make me want to buy clothes.

Yes, but she has a lost a lot of fashon relevance ever since Sex and the City ended. Her candid shots are normally really bad as far as clothing goes, and even her red carpet style (when she shows up) has dropped. She was such a great marketing tool because she was a fashion-icon, and I am sure she will shine again, but now she is in a real lull.

I've been saying this ever since people went gaga over "her style" when she started on SATC.

Some of you should remember how she used to dress before SATC. SHe was OFTEN on worst dressed lists as I recall. Some of you maybe a bit to young to remember.

Chill, no need to call Joss Stone a b*tch :shock: Shes a soul singer..people have compared her voice sounding a little like Aretha Franklin's. Some people like her, some dont. :flower:

She is someone who is about 500 times better looking than Ms. Parker. Granted that is not very hard. But she is still much younger and cuter.
 
SJP made Gap cool, she brought an air of sophistication and an exceptional sense of style to Gap. Joss Stone makes me think of hippies while SJP makes me think of Hermes, Chanel and YSL.

I loved her Pretty Khaki campaign with that musical commercial, so cool.
