Gemma Ward

According to the Spring/Summer 2008 campaign thread...Raquel will do KARL LAGERFELD...

But that was posted by Eccentricity, whose predictions never come true!

But in this case, Raquel might have a good chance

I really hope Gemma do Karl again!!
Any campaign for Gemma is good, but that Brad-K-flies-while-Gemma-stands-and-looks-hot concept was terrible...

;) Sometimes I think that Karl Lagerfeld should hire a photographer... and not use himself, although I really enjoyed the editorial with Snejana and Stam recently in Harper's.

Anyway, sorry to go off topic. :flower:

I kind of hope that she gets something like Burberry back. ^_^ She looked phenomenal in that! :woot:

during the ss08 video on chanel.com, lagerfeld is asked who was the "well proportioned girl on the show", and he answers "it's gemma ward. she is an actress now".

maybe i didnt get the question/answer right... but does that mean they consider she is rather "fat" compared to the other model girls? is that what "well proportioned" means?

if it is, you fans of gemma will have noticed in pics, etc.... is it true? has her body changed THAT much ever since she stopped modeling?

Ghouls, gods, & gorgeousness at V magazine's Rose Bar fête
Thursday, November 01, 2007

(NEW YORK) Lady Bunny perfectly set the mood for V magazine's annual Halloween bash at Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel by seductively posing on the pool table in her glamorous sumo costume. The theme was "Anything goes," as a slew of models, including Lisa Cant, Behati Prinsloo, Hilary Rhoda, and Tyson Ballou, actors, sharply dressed hipsters, and glittering socials like Fabiola Beracasa, Genevieve Jones, and Julia Restoin Roitfeld descended into the dimly lit venue in their best and brightest outfits. "I'm a priest-slash-French clown-slash-homeless bohemian," laughed Benjamin Cho. "I'm confused, but who cares when the energy is this great! I can't get enough of Halloween!" Jones, meanwhile, chugged Pellegrino by the bar and said of her art deco cat costume, which featured a pair of fabulous ears, "I couldn't find good-quality ears so I sat there and sewed all these sequins on."

Other standout getups came courtesy of Daria Werbowy, who arrived fashionably late as a chilling white ghost, Lauren Davis, as the Bride of Frankenstein in couture (she arrived with fiancé Andreas Santo Domingo), Chloë Sevigny, who channeled a modern-day warrior, and James Kaliardos, who had jaws dropping with his imitation of Donatella Versace. "She actually sent me the dress and wig," he laughed. But co-hosts Gemma Ward and Stephen Gan stole the evening with their eye-popping Lakshmi and Vishnu matching outfits.

"Gemma just traveled to India six months ago, and as you can see, she was inspired in the best way possible!" Gan exclaimed, "so, just last week we took a journey to Little India here in New York for a major shopping excursion. Everything looks spectacular, except my nose ring just can't stay in one place!" The creative director's vision was painstakingly precise, down to the blue paint that covered much of his bare upper torso, leaving little to the imagination. "I haven't worked out in three weeks," he admitted with a laugh. Josh Hartnett, who channeled Bob Dylan, was immediately impressed with his hosts' ensembles. "This is crazy!" he quipped to the Indian gods. "I'm loving everything from head to toe!"

The Australian supermodel added that the standout costumes took a lot of physical commitment as well. "Stephen and I just spent two hours in make-up," she excitedly shared. "But it's ok; unlike the photo shoots I do, doing this for Halloween is special. There is a level of individuality, excitement, and amazing inspiration involved. You can wear anything that you want. I'm wearing lots of fake jewelry, for example. But it still looks incredible in pictures and I wouldn't trade it for anything!"

But while Ward certainly put an admirable effort into her wardrobe, even she had to give it up for Edward Enninful. The über-stylist stomped into the Rose Bar cloaked in a cloud of dark. "I'm the angel of death," he roared, showing off his handmade dress and wings and Rick Owens boots. "I took a picture of myself on the way here and sent it to Stephen and said, 'Look, I'm Pat McGrath tonight!'"

I dont know if I am the only one, but that comment was so shady and rude to me. Karl is known for advocating the thin model, now I understand why Gemma will not be casted for another one of his adverts.
