^I don't remember how she really said goodbye to modelling or if she ever did but I thought she would concentrate on acting and it went pretty good didn't it?

I'm sure she doesn't miss the money because she is broke now. I can understand that she still works as model but full-time sounds like she is putting her acting career on hold?
 
yes it does sound that way. i had always assumed she would return. perhaps she read some scripts and didn't see any thing worth doing. besides movies take about a year to make anyway. by the time she gets bored of modeling again, she'll be able to have a fresh batch of scripts to look through. she also probably realizes that she could act for the rest of her life, but there's a time line on how long she could model (or a least do all the runway she wants) maybe she wants to milk that opportunity for what it's worth before her chance is gone.

I'm sure she'll come back. I remember reading an interview with her where she said she's not retiring she's just having a break. She said something like "It's funny because i'm only 20 for god's sake!"
Can't remember what it was from.

With like a bajillion past campaigns like Prada, Dior, and Swarvoski, and like a thousand runway shows, I think Gemma is the farthest thing from broke ^_^. I remember she made the list for highest-earning model. I doubt she could have spent all that money suddenly with just taking off one year from modelling o_O;;.
 
I'm SO EXCITED Gemma is coming back! I think somewhere Karl Lagerfeld is about to die of joy too.

Australian supermodel Gemma Ward has confirmed her return to modelling

Vogue Australia cover girl (add to that US Vogue, UK Vogue, Vogue China, Vogue India and probably every other Vogue), Gemma Ward has confirmed that we haven’t lost her baby doll looks to the silver screen just yet.
After taking the year off to travel and enjoy the company of friends, Ward has said she will return to modelling, which means we’ll be watching the February ready-to-wear shows with added interest.

Get ready, Kinga, Anna J, Toni, Viktoriya, and every new girl this season...because Gemma is coming back and when she does, those campaigns you thought you had will all be gone :)...
