the trailer for the Great Gatsy has been released and there might be a possible Gemma sighting.
around 20seconds into it, and there are 2 girls dancing and looking up into the camera, and the girl on the right looks like Gemma. I paused it and looked at it for a long time, but i am not sure. I don't know how to embed the trailer here, but if anyone wants to look it is on youtube and hopefully determine whether it is her!!

i'm sure this has already been posted as it is from around 2011 when they were filming but here is the only photo i could actually find of Gemma.

Here’s something we just spotted on Tumblr claiming to be a photo of model-cum-actress Gemma Ward on the set of the Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, which has been filming in Ward’s native Australia. This would be a first look at Ward in her role of Catherine, Myrtle Wilson’s (played by Isla Fisher) sister. Although Catherine plays a minor role in the original novel, Ward has managed to reach sixth billing on the film’s IMDB page, which makes us wonder if the role has been expanded. We’re hoping it has, because as excited as we are about a film that brings stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan together, we’d be lying if we said that we weren’t most excited about Gemma.

I couldn't spot Gemma in the trailer but here's to hoping

i just went to imdb and Gemma is credited as 'languid girl'...no mention of Catherine...wonder what that means?!!?

there is a description of someone's wife in the book who is said the be languid

Mr. Mckee was a pale feminine man from the flat below. He has just shaved for there was a white spot of lather on his cheekbone... He informed me that he was in the "artistic game" and i gathered later that he was a photographer...His wife was shrill, languid, handsome, and horrible.

According to enotes

Catherine is the sister of Myrtle Wilson, the lover of Tom Buchanan. The McKees are people who live in the same building as the apartment that Buchanan seems to have rented for himself and Myrtle.

So maybe there has been some confusion because they have an element of correlation in the book. I guess we'll have to wait and see. If what i suspect is wrong then i guess she'd be a very minor character.

Perhaps if someone could identify the male actor in the photo we could get a greater idea of who she really is. I searched through some of the actors on imdb but i couldn't get a match. The person who looks closest to the man in the picture is Callan Mcauliffe but i don't think he looks like the man AND he has been cast as the young Jay Gatsby.

I don't think any of them is Gemma but I believe you can spot her very briefly in the crowd at 0'37". There are two white pillars in the center of the picture at that moment. I think she's standing near the pole on the right, between two men. She wears the same outfit as in the picture taken on set and the actor on her left seems to be the same guy. (You'll have to choose the highest definition to see it.)

^ The first picture is from a Vanity Fair editorial she did with George Clooney back in 2006. And the girl on the right in the second picture looks nothing like Gemma unfortunately This on the other hand...

Honestly, it would be just as amazing if next fashion season without any kind of warning, she just shows up & unexpectedly opens and or closes a random big name show..
