Yes, it does make sense, just think of words like "General" and "Generous", lots of G words have 'j' sounds. Actually there are lots of models named Gemma in Australia too, it's quite strange how many there are really!

Strangely enough, knowing the rule for pronouncing a word with a soft 'g' and seeing the word 'gem' in Gemma's name has not stopped me from pronouncing her name with a hard G

Agreed, Gemma always looks amazing at those Milan shows in particular.
Im still thrilled at ther shows she did though, she just looked so great this season, which is why its a shame we didnt get to see more of her!

Very True... Alot of people have been claiming shes overexposed. So maybe it was a wise move for her to take a step back.
Personally though I like to see her EVERYWHERE!

Yeah she was overexposed at one point but IMG managed her well. She's in the point in her career where she's doesn't have to be everywhere for her to still be on top. This girl is golden.
