she didnt even make state finals, she got past the first two stages and then was cut. i think there were about 4 stages.

Maybe, but I'm pretty sure I saw in an article that the owner(?) of Vivien's saw her and knew she was going to be huge, so they pulled her out because they didn't want her to be "tarnished" with the competition (think of the stigma that goes with say, the winners of America's Next Top Model!). I could be off, but I am sure they pulled her out for a reason.
