i suppose she just grows on you. the first time i saw gemma was the vogue uk cover with Lily cole and i thought "is that her? what the hell is all the hype about then?". but i suppose the cover did not really reflect what she looked like and she just started to grow on me.

it's the same story for my friend. when i first started saying "gemma's so pretty" and stuff like that, everyone was looking at me like i was a raving lunatic and said she was like a bug! for one friend, she didn't really like gemma at first now she's a fully converted gemma fan!

some ppl may think her nose is too big, her forehead is too wide and stuff but i suppose all of that just adds to her appeal cos if she was not like that, she wouldn't be gemma. i remember someone posted a picture where they tried to correct her "flaws" (e.g. eyes to wide apart, etc) and the end picture is just totally blah!! so yeah. gemma holds her own appeal imo

Fashion models aren't supposed to be typical, mainstream pretty. That would be boring. I've certainly never seen anyone who looks like Gemma before, and that's why I like her. She's beautiful in a way that no one else is.

There are models who don't necessarily appeal to me, but I can appreciate that they have great features and proportions and there's something that sets them apart from a pretty girl you would see on the street.

that is so true. i'm a model and i always thought i was a little strange looking rather than pretty because i didn't fit the typical mold of the average beautiful person that you see all the time. people always told me i was pretty, but it wasn't until i got into the industry that i actually thought i was pretty too! it sounds like it was that way for gemma too, or at least similar, because she came to the supermodel contest where she was discovered to support her friends rather than to enter the contest. my eyes are WAY too big for my face, but looking a bit "weird" is what makes a good model. looking odd in a striking way is what gives a model an edge, and gemma definitely has it.

The Michael Kors ones look odd. They tanned her face (or bronzed it) but there's a strip by her hairline that's pale.

ok..I was walking past a west australian newspaper today and there was a little box on the side saying Gemma Ward and some other words, with a photo of her at Gucci F/W 06

I don't know what's in there though I wasn't allowed to buy it
