Old enough to be her cover partner

The old Hollywood double standard that it's OK for men to romance women half their age reared its head this week when images of the Australian-born supermodel Gemma Ward, 18, draped over the man's man George Clooney, 45, appeared in the US glamour bible Vanity Fair.

On the cover Clooney holds Ward in a dance grip, her bare back to the camera, him with a wry smile on his face. It is probably the first magazine cover Ward, who these days calls Manhattan home, has appeared on in which her multi-million-dollar face is not shown.

Inside the magazine is a series of images showing Clooney and a besotted-looking Ward wearing classic clothes in a kind of homage to old Hollywood glamour.

However, it is new Hollywood that is now the focus of Ward's attentions.
The Perth-born teenager has spent much of this month shooting a film, Strangers, with Liv Tyler in Florence, South Carolina. The film is billed as a thriller about a young couple on holiday who are terrorised by three unknown assailants. Ward is listed in the credits simply as "masked assailant".

She is also due to appear opposite Toni Collette in an Australian film called The Black Balloon, in which she plays Jackie, the girlfriend of a teenage boy who is coming to terms with his brother's autism.


LOL Gemma definitely has reason to be "besotted" especially when she once deemed him to be her husband!
