HE'S been powdering the noses of some of the world's most famous women for years, now Sydney cosmetics king Napoleon Perdis is set to become a Hollywood star in his own right.
In the latest phase of his American onslaught, the make-up magnate has been recruited to host a new US reality TV series, Face On.
Fox Studios has bought the rights to produce the show, and will beam the larger than life Perdis into 40 million loungerooms across America.
Perdis, who recently opened his first store in Hollywood, has signed with leading talent agency Endeavor ahead of his small screen debut – the company who manages the stellar careers of Hugh Jackman, Jude Law and Adam Sandler.
Back in Australia this week while making appearances at David Jones stores, the former Parramatta local told Confidential yesterday the TV show Face On is a dream come true.
Described as a cross between The Apprentice and cable TV hit Project Runway, it will show rivalry between aspiring make-up artists competing for cash and prizes.
Perdis's big-name supporters, including fellow expat Melissa George, model Gemma Ward and desperate housewife Nicolette Sheridan, are expected to pop in for guest spots from time-to-time.
"Paris (Hilton) is a huge supporter . . . even though she has dramas at the moment," Perdis said.
The beauty guru said he is relishing the chance to show what goes on behind the scenes at some of the most exclusive make-up counters around the globe.
While South America has shown interest in buying the show, there have been no bites from Down Under just yet.
