Gemma been nominated for another acting award in Australia

WHILE the country's film critics were wildly divided about Baz Luhrmann's Australia, they have given it a chance to dominate their annual awards next month.
Following Catherine Martin's Oscar nomination for best costume design last week, the Film Critics Circle of Australia named the epic as one of five nominees for best film yesterday. It is up against The Black Balloon, Son Of A Lion, The Square and Unfinished Sky.
Australia's young Brandon Walters is also up for best supporting actor, with Mandy Walker nominated for best cinematography and David Hirschfelder for best score.
But the critics had nothing for the film's stars, Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman.Instead, the best actor nominees are former A Country Practice star Grant Dodwell for Men's Group, William McInnes for Unfinished Sky and Rhys Wakefield for The Black Balloon. Up for best actress are sparky young Danielle Catanzariti from Hey, Hey, It's Esther Blueburger, Noni Hazlehurst for Bitter & Twisted, Holland's Monic Hendrickx for Unfinished Sky and model-turned-actress Gemma Ward for The Black Balloon.

I'm happy she got nominated, though I don't know what her chances are, I didn't watch The Black Balloon but I saw Noni in Bitter and Twisted and she was brilliant. Though just to be nominated and to be in company with a legend such as Noni is a true achievement in itself!
