If Gemma wanted to come back and IMG wouldn't let her, I'd imagine she would just go to another agency and have them buy out her contract. If she was serious about making a return to modeling (and lost the necessary weight), it would be worth it to the new agency because she'd make that money back since she's Gemma, not an unknown model. I really think she just doesn't want to. She wouldn't be the first model to ditch modeling after getting a taste of acting -- Milla Jovovich, James King, Estella Warren, and Mini Anden all went down that route (although Mini does some catalog stuff every now and then).

And acting sounds better anyway -- you're more involved creatively, the industry is actually regulated, the pay is usually better, and you still get to do magazine covers, photo shoots, attend fashion shows, etc. Plus, life is probably more stable because you're not constantly jetting around to different shoot locations every 3 days.

I miss Gemma so much. believe it or not, I visit this thread everyday just to check for updates on her. even just new post on this thread makes me giddy. *sighs* she's the reason I got hooked into fashion especially to models.
I just have a major question because I only get to know Gemma late 2008 and it was pretty late because a year later she was on hiatus already. how big exactly Gemma was?, I know she was huge, but how huge?

Gemma was a Prada/Miu Miu exclusive in SS04 but didn't open or close. Daria Werbowy opened and closed that season(I think Daria holds the record for most shows opened in a season with 12). In FW04, Raquel Z. opened and Daria closed again.

so this has been a brain tease for years now. if you've seen Gemma's interview in 60 Minutes, when the reporter asked Gemma if she's seeing someone and she said yes but she's not gonna tell who the guy is. I wondered who she was dating that time. I think that was in 2006. I don't think she was referring to Heath Ledger coz I think they started seeing each other late 2007. you guys have any idea?

could it mean anything that VogueUSA twitter changed their main pic from Tina Fey to Gemma ward? they usally use their cover star as their main picture
