It does look like her CK Obsession ads. I thought that too when I heard about her role. Exactly what I was imagining. Turns out I was right. She looks great, so does the movie. I was never a fan of POTC but then after Gem got the role, I watched all the movies in a day.

I'm glad the mermaids in this film are at least evil, killer ones and Gemma isn't just playing a purely bimbo role

Mermaids in mythology are evils and not pretty things like in cartoons so I suppose it's normal to see them like that even if the other mermaid in the movie (played by Astrid Berges-Frisbey) seems to be an 'in love' mermaid ^^
