i hope she has a substantial amount of screen time, start to finish unlike in POTC but mainly i'm excited that she's got another role so soon!! i usually don't see dramas in theaters but i'm sure gonna see this just to support our girl

i still hold out an inkling of optimistic hope that she'll return to modeling but if not i sincerely hope she becomes a VERY successful acting career

Ward, quiet on the career front since the death of her former beau Heath Ledger three years ago, will have a "significant" part in The Great Gatsby, which begins shooting in Sydney next week.

However i am not going to let myself get too excited - pirates was meant to be a significant part for her

^ her acting career is still in the early stages, despite her immense success with modelling it makes sense that a 'significant' part for her would still be a small amount of screen time. she's got to climb the rungs the same way many other actresses do.

that said, this is going to be an amazing role for her no matter how big it is! that's a great cast to become a part of.

You know, looking at the cast, it would be great if she got the part of Jordan Baker.. according to IMDB its been cast but been given to a complete unknown... only has one other movie under her belt? When you've got a cast of holiday A list for supporting roles you'd think they'd get someone bigger in.. considering as previously said its one of the two female supporting roles....

I don't exactly when it was taken but its from a story in Elle Sweden on Caroline in which she shared a bunch of her personal photos.

Yay, another role for Gemma! I don't mind if it's small. I'm sure her breakout role will be very soon The important thing is she's happy and living her dream. It's clear at this point that modeling was never what she wanted to do with her life. She was plucked from Perth SO young, it's no wonder she became disillusioned with it. How many of us started working at 16, or even are doing what we thought we wanted to do at 16?

It does make me sad, though, that models aren't more famous in Hollywood. She had such a HUGE modeling career that people can be downers about her small acting parts, but we have to remember that outside of the fashion world, most models aren't a household name (the way they were in the 90s) so Gemma is not as famous to the average person as she is to people who love fashion.

But, you know, I think that probably suits her fine. She doesn't seem like the kind of person who wants to be recognized everywhere!
