She bought a nearly $2 and a half million apartment in NY earlier this year. I would think someone who spends that amount of money on one apartment would go on to make it their primary residence, however, I could be wrong. Seems like a lot of money to me to consider it a 'vacation' place, just saying...

I believe she definitely lives in Australia. She is almost always there... her Instagram page serves as
evidence towards that, despite her investment in that apartment. She's hardly ever in NYC

I read that she was looking for apartments in NYC earlier this year, but i agree- based on her Instagram, she's only just come back to NYC after months of traveling and being in AUS.
She clearly has a home in NYC, i doubt she wastes money on hotels. I hope she moves there! Way better for business than a beach in Australia.

I think a lot of people here just aren't prepared to accept the obvious. I do not believe for a second that Gemma's "comeback" would entail doing only one show and campaign for a brand she had been closely aligned with, IMG making this big announcement that she's back to stay, and then for her to go back into hiding.
It's tough to accept but I just don't think she's getting booked for work. This notion that "she's not working because she doesn't want to" is silly to me. Didn't she do a campaign for Country Road or Country Town or whatever that Australian brand/company is called after doing Prada? Are you telling me that if H&M called, she'd say no? People need to realize that Gemma's look was all the rage years ago when almost every other girl had that "doll" look to her, but that has long since changed.
Also, Gemma wasn't/isn't nearly as famous outside of the world of fashion as many here like to insinuate. Ask anyone who Gemma Ward is and they'll have no clue but they might know who the current top girls are, like Karlie, Joan, Kendall, Gigi etc. This fame/social media following is what's propelling them forward. I think Gemma and her people also realized this which is why she's now putting some effort into her Instagram.
Alas, I wish it wasn't like this because I actually really like Gemma as a model but I'm being real about the current situation and modeling/fashion landscape.

She should have stuck around after that Prada opening cause everyone was talking about it, disappearing for another season was kind of dumb imo.
I think we'll see if her comeback is really a flop soon though, since FW is near.

Yeah i'm not surprised Wang used her, although it's only a charity capsule collection, it's a good start considering he came after her peak.
