I keep hearing about this, please explain?

I have very thick hair. I would like to know about this, thank you!

Im not sure what you are on about... are you on about where they use these weird scissors to thin it out?? If so ive had this dun many times when ive went to the hairdressers, and to tell you the truth there isnt much of a difference

Since my hair is extra thick, I've had my hair thinned a gazillion times... and to tell you the truth, I don't think its the best thing to do.
From what i observed when they thinned it... is that they used a special scissor to kind of "shredd" the hair to reduce overall volume.
It makes a difference, but once it starts growing out there are tons of stray hairs floating around... :s
maybe its just me, or I go to a terrible hair salon place... (I havent gone for at least half a year :ninja:)

Thanks guys.

Not going to get it thinned.

I guess having thick hair will be good when I get older.

they use thinning shears. they have teeth (and only a few of them) instead of a blade like scissors so they only cut some of the hairs. i have thick hair too and get it done maybe every 3rd or 4th time i go. if you have thick hair and your stylist thinks your mite benefit from it i say maybe try it once, at least, you won't see a drastic difference but it will be easier to manage.;)

I have it done, but I don't really like it when it starts growing out, it looks messy

i totally agree it looks so messy when it starts growing out.:yuk:

since i go for a styled look now (layers) my hairdresser razors my hair and this makes it appear thinner^_^
