The book is really good but ultimately very depressing, she had a pretty bad start to life but didn't help herself either. A waste of a young life.

I don't believe her life was a waste...that any life can be a 'waste'. The very fact she's being discussed to this day on this here board alone shows that she's had an impact and will continue to do so......her life had moments of great sadness, great pain and sorrow......but it only goes on to teach others and bring to light what is usually hidden from our everyday lives...........

If one person can feel something for her story and realize this does go on every day in the world...it matters. Jesus...even if no one did...it still matters. No life is a waste. No matter how short or screwed up....everything has its purpose.

it was great life for fashion editors and designers, but not for her... so,the whole point of her being is to make other people use her beauty...
that is tragic.

Well said.

all of these are from http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HeartandSoulGiaCarangi/

I joined this group a week ago and it receives a lot of posts (which is rare for a yahoo group) there are some people in the group that actually knew or met Gia and others that know a lot about her. I haven't gone through all the photos they have yet, but they have quite a few. If your a fan of Gia's it would be worth joining.

Every time I see a photograph of Gia, I think "fierce". Some people just take a bigger bit out of life than others. :flower:

Yes, but you can also see that she was sensitive, somehow, and that makes her a lot more interesting than any tough pretty B*tch trying to "make it".

Of course, that's a given. She had a strong vulnerable and sensitive side.....but also a powerful fire burning inside her, raging through her. That balance, her originality..I think that's where the comparisons to James Dean came from. He was haunting...unqiue, vulnerable, yet tougher than most...
