Gia Carangi

Gia was truly amazing.Love her pictures and the way she posed.I guess it could be said she posed with atitudde!
I have to say that i cried when i read her quote too,its so sad.

I have seen one of her picture that is just amazing. She has a black dress on and is sort of leaning(if i remember it right?? )and the starp of the dress is off and her breast is seen.
Its such a beautiful picture!Has anyone else seen it?I havent noticed it posted here?

Here's the whole of that shoot

Gia by Chris Von Wangenheim.

These were taken over several days on top of the Citicorp Building in New York in May/June of 1978 and then later appeared in Italian Bazaar.

Gia talking about the shoot:
'I was wearing this really great slinky black dress...it made me feel good....And I really got into a groove and kept moving all over with it. And then one shoulder slipped, and then the other. And before I realized it, the whole top was down.
'And I went to fix it, and the photographer said, 'No, that's great.' And I thought, 'Why not?' My t*ts looked good.'

:lol::heart:

Thanks lizzardqueen.

I feel like her best feature was her eyes. They're like fire. Warm and dangerous. It really set her apart from the new models generation. Their eyes are more icy and transparent.
LOL sorry for the silly things I write. :p

lizzardqueenthanks a million:woot: thats the shoot i meant she looks breath taking.
Thanks again:flower:

I saw a documetary about her(dont remember wich one)and this stylist said she had the best breasts he has ever seen and that they never taped her, like other models.

Counting the big ones, I think it's five.

British once, American once, Italian once and Paris twice.

Gia, she's legend, she's perfection, she's someone that would never ever fade away.

I see Rachel Bilson in her, maybe a wee bit of Julia Roberts. I heard there were photos of her where you could see track marks. Model Photos, guess that was before photoshop!

Gia's story is absolutely chilling. One of the very few stories that has brought me to tears. What she had to go through... and what she put herself through... heartbreaking.

It makes me mad that those closest to Gia didn't reach out to her more but then I realize that she was probably very difficult to deal with due to the drugs she was on. And it's true that you're the only one that can truly save yourself but her family life didn't help. It sounded like she took ENORMOUS amounts of heroin at a time (one documentary said lethal amounts) which shows that she was desperately trying to escape from reality. I don't know... I guess you can only speculate now since she's gone. Poor girl

All these ads just reaffirm that Gia was the best EVER, IMO.

Yes. Like that shot of her and the other model, where you can't even see Gia's face - she still outshines the other model to the point where she doesn't even exist as anything else than a prop...

^yes! Gia truly had that "it" factor that they talk about supermodels having. The camera was drawn to her. She was magic.

Hey! Did you guys know that she was the FIRST known woman in North America to die from AIDS? That is sad. This year will be 21 years since she died :( I wonder if she ever had any idea about how people, like us, would still be talking about her.

Has anyone ever noticed that Gia and Cindy Crawford really don't look that much alike? I mean, why did they call Cindy "baby Gia?"
