i know .. me too. BUT, i do believe in my heart that she'll come back to us. it's sad that people in the general public have forgotten just how significant whitney houston was, not just in terms of popular culture, but in terms of the barriers she broke down for black popular artists, and the standards she set as a vocalist. the public has forgotten, but the people within the industry haven't. anytime the contemporary artists like Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, even Mariah Carey and Celine Dion -- anytime they are asked about who inspired them, they ALL credit whitney.

if you've ever seen whitney live, you know that there truly hasn't been a vocalist since with the interpretive skills that whitney has. she can take any song and make it her own, and better. just go to youtube.com -- there are hundreds of incredible live performances.

point is, though she has had an extremely rough few years, it will only add to the allure of her story at the end of it all. the driving ego and incomparable talent that brought her to fame will eventually bring her back to it. the whitney houston story isn't over yet. trust.



AAAAAAANYWAY, back on topic ---

i think that Gisele is the "biggest & best" supermodel right now because she has been SO versatile. she is as comfortable shooting a swimsuit layout for Victoria's Secret as she is shooting a high-end editorial for W or one of the Vogues. she has an absurd body that is very smooth and lean and thin, yet absolutely strong and healthy. therefore it can appeal to both men and women. and she knows how to work that body. she knows exactly how to pose and she knows her angles as well as anyone there ever was.

plus, she has that sort of goofy cameron diaz-esque personality that people love and a runway walk that is so fierce that countless have (unsuccessfully) attempted to copy since.
