Gisele Bündchen Forest already shows some results

In Brazil, July 17th is the Forest Protection Day. To celebrate this date, Gisele’s Blog brings news about the “Gisele Bündchen Forest”.
In 2008, Gisele was in Campinas/Brazil to plant the first seedlings of the “Gisele Bündchen Forest” of the Florestas do Futuro Project (Future Forests, in English). The seedlings were of Erythrina, a species recommended for the restoration of riparian forests and degraded ecosystems and for the maintenance of wild fauna. The symbolic planting was the first step for conservation and reforestation of Mata Atlântica rainforest.
The Mata Atlântica rainforest has one of the richest biodiversities in the world; however, there is only 7% left of its original vegetation. Aiming at recovering this biome, for 10 years, the Foundation SoS Mata Atlântica has been working effectively in forest restoration programs in the Mata Atlantica such as the Florestas do Futuro program to recover riparian forests, which was supported by Grendene and Gisele. The project also seeks to alert the community about the importance of forests, as well as to reinforce the importance of the connection with water for the balance of nature.
Private areas are essential to the project implementation because it is believed that more than half of the remaining biomes are located on private properties. For example Fazenda das Cabras (Goats’ Farm) located in the region of Campinas/Brazil and the State Park of Serra do Conduru in the region of Ilhéus/Brazil, both part of the Gisele Bündchen Forest. The sale of “Gisele Bündchen Seeds” sandal provided the project with more than 25 thousand of seedlings of 100 different species to revitalize the areas. Seedlings were planted according to the characteristic of each region and its biodiversity.
Today the action on the Fazenda das Cabras, which was concluded in May 2009, already shows some changes in the landscape and in some places the trees are more than 1 m high. The planting in the State Park da Serra do Conduru finished in March 2010 and the seedlings, which are in full development now, has begun to stand out in the landscape.

Christy Turlington gives a few small mentions of Gisele in her new interview from the Daily Telegraph!

Not many models over 40 can make the same boast, but all six of the supermodels who haunted a generation of young men in George Michael's Freedom 90 video possessed a quality that has endured. "We were this oddity that occurred in pop culture at that time," she says. "But I don't think we created anything; I think we just happened to be there at that moment."

So does she buy into the modern lament that supermodels no longer exist? "I don't know." She gives a diplomatic wag of the head. "Maybe there haven't been that many at any one time again, but just think of Gisele [Bündchen] and Daria [Werbowy]. And look at Kate: I met her when I was 18. Her father worked for Pan Am and so did mine, so we had that in common. She was always funnier than everyone else, and savvy. What has kept her going all this time is the fact that nothing takes her over; it's she who takes over."

Yet most of the new girls – Gisele aside – pale in comparison with the glamazons of the Eighties and Nineties who didn't "wake up for less than $10,000 a day". "Maybe our body types were more feminine, but I often felt that we were too glamorous," she says. "Because I'm not very glamorous it didn't feel true to me. I relate far more to the fashion of today than the Chanel miniskirts and Versace jackets of that time. Plus, having to wear all that make-upe_SLps what a waste! Cindy was much more that kind of persona; I don't think the 'sexy girl' thing is my image at all – I get more attention from females."

I notice Gisele is always most active in spring/fall. Hopefully more things come up in time for fall. Right now all I know of is HB uk and Vogue Brazil issue. Another Vogue cover for the fall would be nice too
