See Kate Moss, Naomi Cambpell And Gisele Bundchen In Their Runway Debuts
Was there ever a time when Kate Moss wasn't a supermodel?
As New York Fashion Week draws closer, we can't help but reflect on the past a bit. While many of us in new media can barely recall the days when Andre Leon Talley wasn't wearing a caftan or when the "The Trinity" was the biggest thing ever to hit the runway—these milestones and trends continue to shape our collective understanding of the fashion industry's evolution. Christy Turlington, Iman and Linda Evangelista set the stage for Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen and Karlie Kloss.
To celebrate the kick-off of NYFW on February 6, we're looking back at some of very first runway shows of the most iconic models from the last 30 years. From Kate Moss at Galliano in 1990 to Gisele at Oscar de la Renta in 1996, it's amazing to consider the transformation and evolution of these household names. What it must have been like to see The Trinity of Linda, Naomi and Christy come stomping down the runway together for Versace in 1991 (and then tearing up the hottest night clubs hours later)...
Linda Evangelista once famously quipped, "We don't vogue, we are Vogue." Will there ever be another era of such glamorous supermodels? From Iman in '85 to Agyness in '06, take a look back at the runway debuts of ten of our favorite models.
