The media is wrong, as usual. Impanema is a seperate sandals company than Ipanema by Gisele Bundchen. You can mostly spot the difference because Gisele's have her name on them on the soles, the others do not.

My flip flops have written "iPANEMA" and then a star and her name. I thought maybe they changed it for "Ipanema".
To have you're name associated with Gisele is good for anyone, and some people don't care if they are deciving costumers or the audiencie as long as they are making money.
What a relief!
