i knew it was too good to be true....but there seems to be quite good attention to detail by these fakers....the cotton interior on all of these auctions seem legit? I dont have one and cannot view in person, so i guess is a no go zone for me.

it is not correct, but i wont publish specifics since this is a public forurm. i do not support counterfeits and do not want to further educate counterfeiters. be very careful with ebay. if the price seems too cheap, it is probably suspect....

That is just sad & revolting.....I can't believe even GIVENCHY's are being faked nowadays! Over the last two weeks or so I noticed soooo many Givenchy Nightingales on ebay, most of which are listed as New Without Tags -- I went on ioffer to do a mini-investigation and there we go, the Nightingale's are all on there So I guess that's where most of the fake ebay nightingales must have come from. There definitely were one or two real Nightingales sold on ebay recently (I remember one distinctly, the seller posted a ton of photos showing every single detail, and they checked out), but sadly the majority were fake.

I really really want a Maxi Nightingale and came across this auction today:

My 6th sense is telling me it's fake -- just did a research on this seller on goofbay ( http://www.goofbay.co.uk/getSellerLists.html?seller=2earthangels06&Submit=Check )....and apparently he/she has sold numerous new Givenchy Nightingales in black patent before for super low prices, as well as other hot bags (for low prices).....NOT a good sign. I wish I could be convinced otherwise.[/quote


the black patent one u asked about last week was fake. this one has no pix of hardware or leather closeups....not a good sign....

Thanks for the heads up. went on ioffer and saw all the nightingales. how annoying. That seller has 100% feedback too.....just goes to show that ebay is just 99% miss. Imagine buying a fake for over $1000!!!!

Just an update regarding the continuing production of the nightengale...

Despite the rumors on this thread that said the reg. oversized nightengale was over after s/s, Barney's just recieved a shipment of f/ws in black leather this week. The strap is the skinnier one we've seen, but it really is not bad in person. The leather is much better, in my opinon, than the previous ones, as it is squisher and more textured than the originals (which seemed to have a very smooth, slightly unforgiving texture). My friend picked one up, and I still think this is an absolutely excelent bag. Call Barney's for anyone interested, I have a feeling they did a pretty big buy of it!

i saw some nightingales at barneys in l.a. on monday...
they had a medium in plum and a black, a black patent maxi, and a large gold metallic...

i really wanted a medium one, but the handles are a bit awkward...
they're not tight enough to fit on the shoulder, and when you wear it on your arm, they kinda dig into your arm...
i was quite disappointed...

they also had a xl patent bettina which was gorgeous...

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but I am pretty sure (on the page before this one) that brian said the only original nightengale would be black crushed patent, which is not the case.

Yes, he did indeed say that.. that they would not be re-making the bag as the original black letaher one.

^the original is still in tact, thats what I was saying in my responce to Ale. If you see my post #404 I was at Barney's recently and they got a re-shipment of originals (in a slightly slouchier leather, with the skinny strap) in black and white.

oh i didn't notice that. in the pic on givenchy's website it looks shiny..so maybe he mistook that for patent. either way, that's the only one being produced for next season.

i saw the new leather nightingale in medium. it had a thinner shoulder strap and did not have the zipper on the shoulder strap which is really part of the drama of the bag. the hardware is very generic in goldish color. the leather is nice, sort of like thomas wylde distressed leather, but i think part of the drama of the bag is gone. i am still loving my original washed black patent maxi. people try to buy it off my arm.B) hey, maybe the value will hold like the original flat brass balenciagas which were only made in 2001-2002.

I actually think that the one on the website is patent. You really can not go by the website, the entire line is not on there.

i don't like the new nightingales. they look too much like luggage and the shape isn't as interesting..... did the old nightingale ever come in tan or a camel color?
