u can understand my disappointment with the hardware.. although I love the squishy leather I can't get over the gold and the thinner strap with no zipper

Well... I like it a lot.

but I wouldn't live without the zipper on the strap.

the gold makes the bag look more expensive actually.

Nah, gold hardware is soooo over.. I mean it is used on all bags for the last years... it just feels dated.

Is anyone else disappointed in the leather on the nightengale? I ordered one a few months ago expecting thick, soft smooshy leather which it wasnt. It was soft but pretty thin and didnt feel like a $1600 bag.

actually gg you are right. the calf leather on the original models was sorta blah. i think you had the same model as i had.you can check the older posts in this section. i sold my orignal black calf to get the original model in distressed washed black patent. it is really amazing. a girl tried to buy it off my arm today, again... anyway, the new models with the calf leather are much more smooshy and thick like he original thomas wylde bags used to be... but the lack of zipper on strap, thinner strap and gold hardware have taken the bag's drama away..... if any of you want a nightingale, grab the original models....

I like the gold hardware - I think it looks quite chic. I can see what you mean though - when you have your heart set on a certain hardware nothing else can really compare. Its still just gorgeous Wafaya. Really incredible bag.

The one thing I liked abt this bag is the leather.. it is really soft!.. but i agree with just_me.. every other bag has gold hardware now and I really had my heart set on a bag with minimal hardware..and the zipper on the handle ofcourse which was basically part of the "drama" of the bag..

No I did'nt keep that one....
I get bored of patterned bags easily....and I forgot to mention this,I found marks(zebra pattern marks)on the dustbag!!!
So the colour of the zebra pattern(the part where the black pony hairs are)stained the dust bag!!! I did'nt notice the stain until last night.tThe SA said that is probably because the humidity at their storage when it first arrived,before they displayed it, That means The SA knew about this and did'nt tell me!
half price or not I was really dissapointed about the quality of this pony hair givenchy!!That stain on the dust bag,could have happened to our clothes!!
So...this is my Cream one instead....

Yes Wafaya....the black is better with gunmetal...And i like the original ones with the thicker strap and zip
You made the right decision on the gunmetal original one!
meanwhile...my cream is with gold hardware,Personally i think the gold hardware is much better with the cream
and this one has the original strap with zipper tooB)
