Givenchy Homme AW 05-06

i like it too...i think it is oswald...right?...

Woah- How can anyone take note of the clothes in such a gorgeous setting? Fancy shmancy.

^I was thinking the same thing.
The collection is by Ozwald Boateng - he's is the nicest man you could ever meet.

I'm vaguely attracted to this...

Any addition pictures would be much appreciated.:flower:

It's excellent for Givency. Such a smart move to hire Oswald.

Wow. I was quite surprised to like this collection so much; I only ever think of Audrey Hepburn when I think of Givenchy (not that that's a bad thing). What are the price points like in the US?

The setting is amazing, the clothes are o.k., but I don't think really warrant a runway presentation - they say nothing new . . .

It's interesting that this presentation was SO traditional , baroque decor and all , when the other LVMH ' happening ' house , DIOR HOMME , decided to go a little down the Galliano route , with an ' epater les bourgeois ' feel to it .

That's probably because you missed Givency hiring Oswald Boateng. This is his second collection, I believe, and it's fantastic, as was the first one. Not sure abut the prices, since this will be the first season that I will probably set my foot in the Givenchy store, but if I do, I'll let you know.

I'm surprised, I expected something awful Gucci-like clothing. It's actually quite nice. Still a major European label and some of their women's shoes and bags I can never forgive them for...

you shouldn't be surprised. ozwald knows his stuff. he's not an image-builder like tom ford, the man can actually cut the meanest suit in ready to wear.

Hmm, I think I will be the voice of dissent.

I am SO not the target customer for this brand. I went through more than half the looks over at the Brit GQ site, and I turned it off out of boredom. Sure, they're nicely cut suits, but nothing new as far as any ideas, even in the presentation/styling/combinations (and I don't mean theatrics, just something to make me want to add any items to my wardrobe.) I thought this piece was nice, but perhaps that will be more telling of my personal taste than of Boateng's being appropos for the house of Givenchy:

I went back and took a look at the entire collection because nearly everyone here seemed to like it, but I'm not sure you've seen the full run of show. I decided I still found it all too staid. I'd be curious to see if this is a reaction like the Dior reaction, where people judged the entire collection on the few photos seen in this thread.
For the rest of the collection, go to British GQ's site - they get it sooner than men.style.com:
