So I bought the new UK Glamour today, I got the only Huda cover in the store. There seemed to be an even distribution of the two other cover girls.
The paper is thicker, so it makes a 210 page issue seem like a fairly substantial magazine. The masthead is printed in iridescent silver foil, which is gorgeous against the pink of the Huda cover.
However, it doesn't look like the contents are any different to what Glamour used to produce, minus the fashion editorials (there's one), so there's nothing tremendously special about what's inside. 'ALL NEW' = nothing has changed. The page design and the fonts and everything are pretty much the same.
That said, if they want to produce a publication full of beauty snippets on decent paper at a cheap price, in order to keep the Glamour brand alive on the newsstand, I'm all for it. Down the spine, it says "Glamour Beauty Book SS18", so it seems this is their intention going forward.
As an aside, do you notice how this is the second UK magazine - after UK Elle - to employ a 'frame' on the cover as part of the page design? I wonder if this is a trend forming. 'Framed' front covers.
