I just bought some sheepskin wool lined mittens

Ta-da!

so many beautiful images posted here...

i can't wait to get a pair!

so i passed by the Century 21

tried on some gloves, but they where just blah and they made my hands look fat.
so i went to the girls sections.
i'm a size 8....

I found that to be a problem as well. I think some of the companies are thinking all men's hands are fat now or something, so they make them accordingly.

i really want some elbow length leather gloves, so i can scrunch them down a la F/W 08 catwalks (lanvin etc). so chic!

I am looking for the perfect short leather gloves and long cashmere gloves for the winter!!! I think I am close. Will post when I have found the perfect pairs.

I just got some great Ralph Lauren wrist length houndstooth and black wool gloves and they have little leather bows at the wrist. I also got green Portolano leather gloves that feel like butter they are also cashmire lined love them the green is about the color and shade of snap peas.

I am looking for the perfect short leather gloves

aren't we all....

still nothing, on my end.
how hard can it be do find the short dark brown leather gloves.
i have something in mind, but i can't find what i want anywhere.

ps. I'm going back to houston next weekend, just for three days.
time for some good eats. ^_^

There are these black leather gloves that I am majorly eyeing.
They are cashmere lined and they fit so perfectly.
I keep going on and on about them to people in the hope that they shall get so annoyed they'll get them for me.
I love gloves.
The ones I have now are cheapo leather gloves that are baggy and completely unflattering to my hands.
I got them last christmas. I told my mother: "All I want for christmas is Chanel Chance eau de parfum and a pair of Aspinal leather gloves." So she gets me an awful cheapo pair..
I'd love to have an entire selection of gloves!
Though, I like to have an entire selection of everything.. hmm...

dorien - maybe check out j press? I was just on their site the other day looking at the men's gloves and I think they had some short ones there.... :uncertain:

I'm also looking for the perfect pair of short leather gloves. I really want some tobacco colored little mini gloves (ie wrist length) but I have quite small hands and vintage gloves seem to be made for children, but regular gloves are too big....ah well.

peachescream - i would look at vintage shops for elbow length leather gloves. I always see some there

Well, it is the time of year for closeouts and sales. I was walking through the mall with a friend today, and we went into the JC Penney's. They had a small rack of gloves left, including some leather elbow length for I believe 10.99 on sale. IIRC they had black, brown, silver/gray, red, a tanish color, and a purple. The leather was not the best quality in the world for sure, but I have seen worse. If you look at them check out multiple pairs because some seemed quite soft and others were pretty rough. Now, the bad news...they had an unsightly seam. However, when she scrunched them down the seam (right near the wrist) more or less disappeared. However, if you pull them up the arm so they are smooth on the arm the seam is pretty noticeable. I suggested to her she might want to wear a cuff or bangle there, or maybe a big watch or something for kind of a cool look. Anyways, thought I would mention them since they were such a bargain. :ninja:

ps. Quick note for the guys. Make sure your lady friends take their cc's to the store. I got snookered on the old "hey, can you get these for me". :p

I've just bought fingerless very very long dark green leather gloves. the leather is so soft and supple. I can't wait till it gets cooler to wear them. :L:

LaCrasia makes excellent gloves. There was another great source in New York, I believe called "Glove Me Tender"

Another nice source is Dorthy Gaspar. There are all generally custom made but do carry some great styles in standard sizes

I was just totally struck by the delicacy of these tulle gloves by Sophia Kokosalaki A/W 09-10.

I got some thin material white gloves (just over your wrist but very New York) for $3 at an antique mall, and then I was wearing only one, pretending i was Sasha P from the Dior HC show when I was walking down some stairs at the Beverly Center the other day :ninja::wacko:
