This is the 'goth" that I like.......

These looks to me are perfect examples of how goth style can be done to perfection. It's dark, it's mysterious, it's sensual.....it comes off really naturally. The Gucci look is a bit more obvious in the gothic references with the cross and the lacing, but it still isn't overdone or forced looking. Angelina's look is perfect to me because it's what so many people think of when they think goth, dark, slim, and somewhat dangerous.

Didn't see this, but a belated thanks. :ninja:

i have never seen that heavy dark eye make up from the gucci show work in real life...it only works in theory on a runway or in a photo...

yet every season some ridiculous beauty editor will do a whole section on how to get a 'smoky eye'...and every fashion victim will run out to buy products to try and replicate the look..

fashion is soooo funny sometimes...

Yeah, I hear ya grey. The Gucci look is great on a runway but that's it. But the smokey eye can work in real life. I think the thing so many people try to do is use the blacks that are used on the runway which is a huge mistake.

My mom does a sort of modified smokey eye when she goes out for the evening using browns and keeping it all under the brow bone, it's subtle but effective.......

When I'm in school I always wind up with smoky eyes. See, it goes like this; I apply kohl neatly around my eyes in the morning, and by the time 6th period rolls around, my eyes are all smeared and smudgy from sleeping in class.

Not exactly what they reccomend in ELLE, but hey.....

i use a similar technique...it's called sleepeing with your waterproof mascara on and just rubbing your eyes instead of taking it off in the morning...

it actually looks pretty good... :P

prep...i found this pin...did you already post this?...is it cute?...i think it might be...

I used to be so much into the goth stile, I had black plastic pants, two cloaks, I have 6 corsets, I didn't and don't do tight lacing :P I have two leather pants (one with laces on the sides), leather top, black trousers with blue glittery fire on the bottom, many black dresses and skirts, many many spikes, crosses, the wicca star and what not! I was more of a "cleen goth" I didn't use much make up for example, just a little eyeliner once in a while. I didn't overdo the jewelry, two neclases at the most (choker and one right above the breasts), one ring or a bracelet (not both at thesame time) and never earrings. I liked the look that was posted here before of the guccy model and Angelina Jolie.

I gave up, I allways was releaved to get out of the clothes in the end of the day, tight corsets, the plastic pants stuck one me (had to wear tights underneath so I could undress and walk properly, boy it was hot!). The skirts were allways in my way and I spent most of my walking trying to ceep the skirts DOWN! And not stuck in my crotch. The cloaks were allways banging somewhere in the wind and getting stuck in everything (also hard to have a bag while wearing a cloak).
I once decided to buy something in color, I bought a pink top and tried to wear my old jeens and guess what, I felt good! in the end of the day I didn't want to change while home, I felt good so my stile changed instantly and now I love colors and soon after I found out how much I loved vintage and didn't have to be ashamed of it. I can wear flowery and colorful 50's dresses and feel good about it :) I'm just a lot more happyer in colors and all of a sudden I love fashion :innocent:

I don't have a before and after picture but I will post them when I have them ;)

I like that pin... would be super fun on a certain purple blazer I have...
