Great pics everyone! Does anyone know when and where were the pics in post 1269 and 1283 taken?
It would be great, if when posting a pic, if someone happens to have info about when was it taken, to please post that info

Jeanne, I like Ava more than Grace for a few reasons. She is a Capricorn like me, she is from the same area of North Carolina as my Gran was and I loved her personality. Yes, she lived hard and it showed, but she also lived by her rules and her rules alone. She was a good woman as well. I have never read of anyone having a harsh word to say about Ava.

scriptgirl, I meant no disrespect to Ava. I have always admired her as an actress, but don't know much about her life, but have always admired these hard-living actresses that I know an actor like Clark Gable really loved.. I was just reacting to that one particular photo, where (in my eyes) Grace looks so pretty and sweet. By the way I am a Capricorn too, didn't know Ava was one. In that picture, she looks like Maria Callas a little bit, I guess it was the make-up and hairstyles of that era. As always, thanks for your marvelous pictures.

scriptgirl, just thought of something that might interest you. When Princess Caroline of Monaco was 16 and was the favorite prey of paparazzis, especially for her appearances at the Beach Club in Monaco, there was a revival festival of Ava Gardner's movies in Paris. Kind of in honor of Ava, one magazine came out with the headline (referring to Princess Caroline), "Barefoot Princess" (in reference of course to "Barefoot Condessa"), comparing Caroline to Ava, saying she would have been discovered no matter what.
