Grecian/Roman S/S 06

Holy mother of.... those McQueen sandals *gasps* :woot:

I love the reddy brown and yellow dresses at Hermes in the first post (pic 7).

I have loved this style ever since I ran around school and my house for weeks draped in any fabric I could find, trying to be Lucilla from Gladiator.

Ya know, I love AMcQ, I love those sandals, I love that green dress.... but I'm not mad on the reat of his grecian things this season:innocent:

I'm still in love with his last ss collections:blush:

gladiator sandals were everywhere last season.... most high street labels had them in stock... I am sure this summer they will have an even bigger selection.... :ninja:

Absolutely gorgeous. I have always been a fan of Grecian and Roman inspired dresses. For prom I am thinking of doing a dress inspired by this look. I think it's gorgeous and definately different from most of the dresses I see at prom at my high school.

^ they should be worth buying ;)

personally i find this trend a bit too 'old' and just re-emerging for a third -or more- season, i was actually surprised to see 'grecian islands' coming up as the main theme at the Gaultier haute couture

I know I was just thinking this trend seems to be mentioned and featured a lot and then never seems to really take off. I've seen a few Grecian inspired dresses though which I have been lusting after.

somehow it's been taking off for seasons but not as a 'literal' look..
or in huge volume.. will JPGaultier's ss06 couture change that? i doubt it

I hope it translates into tops,i love the drapey, flowing shapes.

Does anyone know a good online selection of grecian/roman dresses? Preferrably $500 or under.. TIA :)

^ Very nice, thanks for posting Ida....!

I have a thing for flat grecian inspired sandals.... in black or brown perhaps..?

Those Skovgaards are gorgeous! Since I'm all about comfort, I ordered some Mia - Athena sandals:

I'd like some gladiator sandals in this style and color leather soon (ebay):

^ I think Urban Outfitters had something similar last year... at a very very low price as well.... didn't get them, maybe I'll reconsider them this time around..... being tired of running around in Converse-style shoes during the hot and humid summer days....

Bleh I am too. I never find really easy, comfortable sandals in the summer, because I don't really care for flipflops.. Urban Outfitters is currently restocking their Grecian Sandals though. All on backorder except Size 9 gold ones..

If anyone is wanting some cheap gladiator sandals, Urban Outfitters (urbn.com) are back in stock! :)

Also, I'm REALLY enjoying the Mia - Athena sandals I received (zappos.com). Very nice quality and comfortable. We'll see about the Urban ones..
