Same here. I think this cover is really unsettling and glamorizing violence is incredibly awful. Unfortunately, it's all to common in fashion magazines. Which I don't really understand, I mean, why would you want to depict a women who's been harmed, such as seen in this image, it's just not appropriate. Especially when you look at the numbers of women who are victims of such violence, it's astounding. I think an editorial can be dark and interesting without having to resort to a violent depiction.
that first cover not only is gratuitously provoking and degrading but also visually ugly. It isn't even art. It has nothing going for it.
Whereas Charlotte has a lot of punch to it. Colours, and I like the fact she assumes that she is now older and still want her ciggie and says basically to the world that this is how she is, take it or leave it.
