Grey's Anatomy

i liked that finale!!!! ok white-> i cant believe burke, what a performance by sandra oh. that was heartbreaking. really cant believe they arent getting married. when meredith announced it was over to the wedding crowd, was she talking about her relationship to derek too? i cant believe that the woman from the bar is meredith's stepsister. yikes! and poor george failing his intern exam. what is he going to do :( i dont want him to leave

I liked it as well. I felt so bad for Cristina even though I had guessed the result. Great performance! But I hated when we finally got a second of McDreamy back, then Meredith totally ruined it. I thought she was speaking to Derek when she said it''s so over. Why did she always need to find happiness in other people to prove something in her life?

First off, I loved the finale, but im like shocked about george failing his exams and meredith ruining everything with derek!! ughh And when burke recited his vows to addison, izzie, and everybody else, i knew right away that that would be the only time we would hear them. So I kinda guessed the wedding was off from the beginning of the episode. Also, we all know george and callie are making a huge mistake bringing a baby into the world right now...and i have a feeling that she got pregnant right after he agreed to having a baby (maybe, maybe not?). But the craziest thing was meredith's step-sister being the new intern...and the girl who flirted with derek at the bar. That was so nuts! I can only imagine what will happen next season, derek being torn between half-sisters...because we all know how he loves interns:innocent:. i'm just afraid that this real life drama between burke and george has really drawn them away from the show. The writers certainly ended it like they were gone forever. Alsoooo, Alex needs to get over the fact that he's not a bad guy. He acts like he's doing the right thing by letting go of Addison in the last episode, and now letting rebecca/ava get away. He needs to realize that he can actually have a relationship without being the a**hole.<--in white

I liked the finale too^_^. in white->I thought too that when Meredith said "it's over" she was referring to both the wedding and her relationship with Derek, I didn't like that. And I wanted Christina and Burke to get married, but I guess we saw that coming. I wasn't surprise about Meredith's step-sister. I was more surprise about George failing. Now I want to know what's going to happen and, of course, I'll have to wait for months.:(

This finale was depressing, and it's not quite making me to look forward to next season. I won't be able to stand watching Derek getting together with "that girl", which is what's going to happen, I'm sure.

My friend said that too! She thought that seeing Derek with Meredith's half sister is much more depressing than him with Addison.

I loved the finale and thought this season was the most depressing ever. It's like a period has been brought to the end and a new beginning is gonna start. I hope those new interns are not going to be another new focus next season, they all look so dull.

It's funny to see the Grey girls interact with George. Remember the first epp (?) when George first met Meredith? I loved Sandra's performance last night. She was relieved that she was free, yet sad at the same time. Alex and Meredith are so much alike. Both are kind of "damaged."

I hope George and Burke are not leaving the show.

im glad the most depressing season of greys is over, and hopefully the next one will focus more on patients, and less on love triangles.

from the writers' blog, http://www.greyswriters.com/

in white->
"This season was important to me. It wasn’t as light as Season Two and for good reason – our characters were in a darker place. I needed to put Meredith’s mother to rest, Izzie’s grief to rest, and the race for Chief to rest. George needed to grow up on a monumental level and then come full circle to where he was when we first met him in the pilot. Meredith had to finally try to face the fact that she’s damaged when it comes to relationships. I wanted to put Bailey on the path of questioning her standing as The Chosen One. Both Burke and Derek needed to hit a relationship wall, each in their own ways...
...
So that’s it. That was our season. I did my level best to burn it all down this season, to burn it to the ground so that we can have a place to build from next season. Burning it down was hard. But next season…oh, next season is all about the fun and the pain and the new beginnings. Because our interns are going to become residents. Because everyone is single again -- well, there is the little matter of Izzie and George and Callie
…but still…

...the future is wide open, people."

Shonda also talked about Meredith's half sister on GA podcast. She said that Derek met her in a bar, her last name is Grey, and she is a new intern so put these pieces together and think about that over the summer.

^so white... derek and meredith are really over?!

I think they are over for now.

I also don't think that Derek will sleep with Meredith's half sister 'cause that would ruin every chance they have of getting back together. That just reminded me of what Ross said to Rachel about never wanting to date or sleep with her sister (played by Reese Witherspoon). Something to that effect, I guess.

I watch too much tv.

well if you watch too much tv, then i do too because i know exactly which friends episode you are talking about. i dont think derek will attempt a relationship with the stepsister because that would be cruel and derek isnt that evil

OH god, when Derek was saying, "You're the love of my life speech", I nearly swooned. That is the loveliest line I've ever heard.

I'm really surprised that I'm one of the few who hated the finale. I kinda expected everything that happened, but I was hoping I was wrong. Come on, writers - let's give some of the characters a happy ending once in awhile.

Also, is Isaiah Washington (Burke) leaving the show? There were rumors that he would back during his whole controversy, and I don't think they were ever really dismissed.

Was the Addison-spinoff-trial-episode successful enough (i hated it) to become a spinoff?
