This was thought up by a room of executives and one very nervous team lead. The remaining campaigns of 2023 are going to be rough. I expect an improvement when the new CD fully takes the reins. On thing I find jarring is the choice of Halle Bailey shooting for Gucci at such an awkward time. I'm surprised Nicholas Ghesquiere didn't they to snatch her up again for Louis Vuitton.
I really hope this is just an interim creative direction until the new CD gets in because this is bland and does not inspire confidence. While I didn’t care for Michele’s direction, you can’t deny it had a point of view and a clear vision, something that’s lacking here.
...and I thought the Dakota Johnson shoot was bad. This is so woeful. What is going on??? GivenchyHomme is right, this could only have been cooked up by the boardroom.
This focus on making high end luxury fashion campaigns look like simple catalogs seems to continue year after year and it's like... When will we start doing something different?
