Gucci S/S 2011 : Hailey, Joan, and Karmen by Mert & Marcus

Those clothes are gonna sell like beef schnitzel. As similar as they are to the past few seasons, I feel like this time it's much closer to Ford's ads.

^beef schnitzel ain't that great nor such a great seller. veal schnitzel is where it's at

and omg.:heart::heart: i love that campaign. Joan's solo pic with that feathered dress. the colors. the architecture. the guys. i'm in total and utter love and want to go to Gucci like now now now!

the first one released was clearly the worst of the bunch, and gradually got better and better. THIS is how it should be done, unlike that Givenchy disaster.

ooooooooooh! does anyone have HQ's of the digital copies? i would die for them.

 Veal schnitzel is actually really expensive here.

Anyways, this campaign has officially made me like the collection, even though the clothes were really kinda recycled. Karmen is the HBIC in this campaign  Love it.

Joan is on fire!!!! Eyes closed or not, that OG shot is just IMPRESSIVE.
The campaign is really good. If you look at the whole set, its indeed quiet ripetitive and way to reminiscent of the last Cruise or Main campaigns.
Still, I know that when I will see them in print i'll be totally blown away. And even as a guy It makes me die for one of those dresses.

I guess this concept must be working, and after seeing the full set, I can't complain. Seeing them all together makes you appreciate everything. It's just a shame Hailey's in the background, I'd love to see some face. The solo shot with Joan is stellar. Shame there isn't more solo shots.

i must have that feather dress shot!
Joan and Karmen are killing it...I do feel as though
Joan is putting more effort but both ladies compliment eachother

My Synopsis
Karmen & Joan are best friends and Karmen is sort of over the party, but Joan is trying
to convince her to enjoy herself  Hailey is their enemy and they refuse to allow her to get any attention. Joan is the queen of the night

^ I agree. The feather-dress shot is my favorite.

This entire campaign totally exceeded my expectations. Just a great campaign hands down.

The feather dress shot is also my favorite. Quite dramatic. The only problem that I have with it is that is seems so distant from the rest of the group shots - but that must be because of the final dresses at the show already seemed distant from the collection pieces.

It's a very good campaign overall. Same formula with expected results.
Didn't get the point of hiring Hailey as part of the background honestly. They should have given her a try imo. But hey, if it works for her...

While I like the bright color against the by-now predictable background of an unnaturally blue sky and golden brown earth, this is honestly too artificial looking for me to like. I get M&M's aesthetic, and sometimes I think it really works, but when they do this plasticized, rubberized, highlighted and shadowed to death crap I lose interest. Then of course there's the fact that this is exactly the same as the last year's worth of campaigns.

oh, you old grumpy  lol

at least these days we get overly idealized and gorgeous settings, no matter how artificial. it's gorgeous and personally, i'd love to be wherever they are. can't exactly say that for the previous campaigns, pre M&M (that forest? that field in the wilderness? that white and black space which was overcrowded?)

besides, i might be wrong, but isn't this the first campaign in the Frida era where a black girl is one of the leads? (Joan was kinda supporting-model in the Pre-Fall ads...)

DOWN WITH ALL THOSE BLAND BLONDES!

Sex and the Gucci is back!!!! the ads look more sexual than the ones before

Yes, and it's about effing time if you ask me. That's one thing I have no complaints about; the casting.

it's about fcuking time ALL brands ditch those blondes and show more girls of color.

*looking at you, Burberry... :judge:*

i don't like this campaign at all. firstly, natasha is the ultimate gucci girl she works the "O" face and tilted head poses over anyone else. however, karmen pedaru looks great. the casting is overwhelming looks like they had no idea to do with the other prop models ..hailey, nikola, and gens. They look like boys not men. I hope their is a close up of Hailey maybe in the eyewear shots? I would love to see her!

I just think they just pulled a typical gucci- lets throw a bunch of models on set and tilt their heads. not a fan at all.
