Gucci S/S 2017 by Glen Luchford

I think this is pretty terrible and pretentious but I love it. The images are super off most of the times, awful compositions or just ugly, but there is... energy? At least a little bit. And the will to make something fun and different, which is something. And the grain of the pics is sort of Meiselish circa 2000 for Valentino, which I adore.

P.S. Giraffes are so cute. :crush:

That first black and white shot had my undivided attention, partly because it's a beautiful shot and partly because it startled the hell out of me and got me pretty excited to see the rest of the campaign.

I don't hate it. I can definitely see those echos of that early-00s Testino era Gucci/Valentino mismatched but glamorous crowd kinda thing, which ticks off the right boxes for me. It also comes across as less "look at how wild and eclectic I want you think I am!" and more "I actually am wild and eclectic, and so is my pet tiger".

Yes! It is serving up a little bit of that Gucci Spring/Summer 2000 campaign with Gina Gershon, Lisa Eisner and Jacquetta Wheeler...eclectic and glamorous!

I like because it has the right dose of sensualness to compensate the saccharine inherent to his clothes and makes them seem less childish. My favorite shots are the ones in the aqueduct and the burger restaurant, the one in the fountain is also very much appreciated for its early aughts feel.

I just can't get over what Gucci has become:rolleye:, the campaign looks rediculou and so prtencious in its ugliness and nonsenseness

This really is a weak campaign, especially when compared to the previous 3. They had such a strong cast at the show and the models selected for the campaign are questionable. The photography is weak as well. The colors are washed out and the styling leaves a lot to be desired. Die hard fashion fans know the collection is good but if a normal person were to see the campaign they would not very impressed. Such a shame.
