I wonder if she chose that dress as a deliberate attempt to remind people of gwyneth the princess rather than Gwyneth the exhibitionist

Big miss for me. Hate the color and the dress itself. and it has nothing to do with the theme of the Gala....

I think she was so forgotable on Met Gala. I hate the dress. Werid cause is a nice color. And the shape is not bad either. But somehow doesnt work.
And she could have done better with Gala's theme. She's a rocker's wife!

In some pictures the see-trough material is wrinkled and looks kinda odd. Otherwise is a nice dress, even if I don´t feel any punk coming from it. The black and white outfit is good, even If I could live with a looser pant fit, specially in the booty area....

Is it just me or does that clutch look weird. Like out of place for what she's doing.

Those shoes are gross too. Look like they are new Valentino. Yuck.

I like this outfit. Like the jacket. In the last pic her body looks a bit strange. Like no hips/weist. ^_^

This seems like a strange thing to be quoted saying, from Vanity Fair... And maybe it was boiling because that doesn't seem like the wisest dress to be wearing in May.
Perhaps the Costume Institute should not bother CC’ing Gwyneth Paltrow on next year’s Met Ball e-vite. Two days after the 2013 gala, held as a fund-raiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s fashion arm, the Oscar winner, Iron Man 3 actress, and conversely most beautiful woman/most hated celebrity has reportedly dismissed the annual event. USA Today quotes Paltrow as saying, “I’m never going again. It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all.” Not only might these alleged comments be hurtful to the institute, but they hopefully won’t get back to Taylor Swift, with whom Us Weekly reports she bonded on Monday night.

At the gala, which celebrated the opening of the museum’s new show “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” Paltrow wore vintage hot-pink Valentino and arrived separately from her husband, Chris Martin. Although it’s not clear what exactly went wrong during Paltrow’s 2013 Met Ball experience, the actress did seem less than enthusiastic about the night’s theme, which she told Vogue she ignored: “I guess it’s punk in that I’ve gone just totally classic on a punk night.”

^ Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. That statement could be about anything like a place she went on holiday or a store. A non story to make Gwyneth look like a b*tch.

I really like the entire look of the white pants, black top, and strappy heels. Simplicity.

FINALLY she's wearing Celine!! I have been waiting for this for what feels like forever - now she just needs to wear it all the time  It certainly suits her more than Valentino does - I enjoy the new Valentino, but Gwyneth will always look best in black and white minimalism.

The quotes are legit, she said it, and then even repeated ,and elaborated on how much it sucked in the radio interview with the Australian chat hosts.

Its so strange she would make these statements publicly, i mean the whole interview is weird, because she say she is a bit drunk. I say stay at home if you dont enjoy the Ball, its not the first time she was there. It doenst help her reputation at all, but at least she is honest, which we cant say for many celebs in the PR run Hollywood!

If anyone wants to hear it, you can here (The Met Ball comments start at around 5 min mark):

^The statements were deliberate, she said it twice on separate occasions, so I think she was trying to send a message to Anna Wintour.

What message could she be sending to Anna, I don't want to be on Vogue's cover, ever? Anyway, her Met dress was one of the worst, ugly color and shape, it did her no favors. I'm getting tired of that Celine bag, its so unoriginal how evert starlet carries it. But I do love that last oufit, the shirt is sublime, its gorgeously cut.

it's a shame she said all that because as much as I hate to admit it, it's the one time i actually really liked what she wore. The met dress was punk by her own (personal style) standards. Minimalistic yet with just enough of a spin to be considered punk.

she's always constantly biting the hand that feeds. years ago, i was first turned off by her snobbery when i read her differentiate "films for play vs. films for 'her art'" and slowly the rest of the american public is catching up. B):judge:
