In some of the goth and punk styles, half t-shirts (or at least cut at the waist) on men seems to be returning. I'm not sure where they're buying them, but that's neither here nor there, the fact that they are starting to show up again is interesting.

In the 80's, they were worn to show masculinity. Now, many people associate them with homosexual men. I hear some women say they like looking at men in half-shirts, but others cringe and say it makes them look gay. Straight men particularly seem terrified of the return of the style.

How do you feel about men's half-shirts?

Well Firstly.............half shirts on anyone is awful.

Secondly, I dont know any gay men who would be caught dead in a half shirt.

Third, that's an awful stereotype that something makes you look gay.

Excepting maybe that old Queer Nation Tshirt with the pink triangle on it.^_^ There's plenty of people who put alot of effort into advertising their sexual preference via clothing choice. We call them "Castro clones" here in San Francisco. A stereotype, yes, but not an "awful" one.

Half-shirts just remind me of extreme wonderbras and ****-cleavage. They serve their hypnotic purpose. The only reason I disapprove is that a straight woman, I really don't want to be hypnotized by another woman's show of flesh (don't like the confusion this evinces, but women do check each other out), and any himbo flashing his abs in a half-shirt for my attention--puh-leeze, get thee to the EndUp for the Sunday T-dance.

agreed

not even a triangle Tshirt is 'gay'
imo even 'straights' can wear a pink triangle shirt as support to the gay right movement?

i havent seen this around.. so i have no clue what it looks like

*and please remember crediting original website source

i also don't like them! i also don't like jackets/vests that are too short for the torso, those for men or for women.

i'm so sorry for the bad examples!!! as you can see it's not very flattering at all, unless you're a funny guy

And in regards to what you've said^,
I think I've also seen this in these groups, but they wear a shirt underneath and put the half shirt on top. It doesn't look too bad if they accessorise (real word?) right.

imo, they're a bit trashy looking. come to think of it, i'm not a huge fan of them on women either.

Maybe as part of a layered look...like over a longer, more fitted shirt??

Uhm..........no...........definitely not EVER!!

I think it's kind of intresting like this

May be if it's layered with other shirts it would be cool

I think the thing with that ^^^ outfit is that the pants are HIGH waisted and almost reach the bottom of the shirt. So there is no exposed stomach area really.

I admire the creativity of the outfit above, but honestly if I saw someone wearing that on the street, I'd just think WTF???

Don't like half shirts on anyone, male or female, for the most part.

yeah, I don't know.

Unless you're dressing up as a Spice Girl for a costume party, I would veto half-shirts, regardless of your gender or sexuality.
