There are some Ferragamo bags that are logo-free ...

Marc Jacobs (all at neimanmarcus.com)

Cole Haan (one would think this comes in black too)

Nancy Gonzalez (croc, a bit more ;))

That gerard darel bag.. or whatever... it's not really an it bag.

Balenciaga bags are non logo bags and very practical..or is it that you dont like the shape? Also Gucci does plain black bags with a small plated logo on it..

They're just everywhere though, they are the epitome of the 'It bag' Everywhere I look I see that style...... I don't like the Gucci ones much either as they are so Gucci.

I'm fussy aren't I?

Bottega would be a great choice but they are way too expensive - I was thinking around $1000 US (I'd probably buy in mainland Europe, not UK)

Nothing too smart either, I'm quite a causal dresser, it would feel odd.

My dear Lady Muck, are you saying the bags I posted are too smart? ;) Because some of them are definitely in your price range, and no unsightly logos ... :p

They look like something the queen would carry - they feel old and frumpy. No offence.

Maybe you could post a pic or two of shapes you like?

Just wanted to say thx for mentioning the Bottega jardin bags here...I hadn't seen them & they are gorgeous!

Blk bag I use & love atm is the Charlotte bag by Gerard Darel. Perhaps on it's way to be an 'it' bag in France but not elsewhere I believe, plus it's a nice versatile & understated bag imo...

Well, I like the design of paddington and the silverado, I like most of Marc Jacobs, and Bottega, but I'm not mad on farme bags, you know the ones with big clasps or made on a stiff metal frame.

I wondered if there are any new designers I've not heard of.......

(I'm an inverse snob, really!)

Do you know who has this bag? Thanks:p

Bottega is good, it's not very it and it's very classic and elegant. What about getting the new jardin bag, the woven bag with leather flowers, vines, and butterflies? It's really a piece of art and it's really beautiful!

I don't know anyone personally...but I still think they look wonderful :flower:

I would probably recommend Miu Miu or Hogan bags - although both these designers tend to have their name stamped on the outside. Otherwise, maybe you should look in the mid end range of bags since you are more concerned about obscurity, unique design, and a casual/youthful appearance.

Love that Miu Miu! Actually, I think the topic of "I don't want an 'It' bag" stands alone pretty well as an inventive, original thread. Not that my two bits makes a difference, but it caught my eye more than "handbag recommendations" ever has.

Help needed!

Hi everyone! I'm rather new here and really need your advice on this. I'm looking for a city bag. I'm really loving the shape of the LV Speedy 25 but would hate to go w/ the Monogram. I love the Epi Leather but do you think it would look too "old" on a 22-year-old student? I'll have to see it in person but do you have any suggestions similar to the LV Epi Speedy 25? My price range for this is $850-900, not much, I'm still a college student. I have a weekend bag from DKNY which I love but it's rather large and I'm looking for sth little bit smaller and lighter for everyday use. LV Epi Speedy-owners, does it weigh much? How about the durability etc.? I'm going to NYC soon so suggest me everything in my price range that's available in the States :) No chance of getting a bag here in Finland and they're so much more expensive here :(

I'm also in the need of some luggage, preferably sth that fits in the plane's overhead compartment, similar to the LV Keepall 55 w/ the shoulder strap. The Epi Keepall is definitely too expensive for me at the moment, so suggestions definitely appreciated! My price range for this is $1000.

Btw, what do you people think about Goyard bags?

Thanks a lot and have a wonderful fall!;)

H.e.l.p.!

Dear fellow shoppers and bag lovers I have a major problem! My birthday is in 2 weeks time and I wanted to get myself guess what - a bag! However, Im currently in between Bottega Veneta (leather woven one) and Balenciaga (weekender or shopper from AW2005)...

Which one is the right choice?

p.s. can't get both of them though...

Dependson your age and style- the Bottega is more classic, the Balenciaga is more a 'it-bag' i also think the balenciaga has more of an 'edge' to it.

I would personally go for the Balenciaga. :flower:
