What sort of white bag are you looking for? I recently got the Lila tote in white and it's pretty good so far.

The papillon, or the speedy, but in an other color, for example in monogram multicolore, or the one with the cherrys.
The alma looks more for older.. I have an orange one !

Luna, I just saw the Banana Republic Tangier's tote in chalk, and think it's gorgeous. $198. I'm probably going to get one myself to satisfy that white bag craving without spending too much $$$.

Found two inexpensive white leather bags at Gap. The buckle one is on sale from $39.99. The other one is $58. It's measurements are 12 3/4" x 9 1/2" x 4 1/2" which seems big enough.

Guess for the price of $39.99--the white leather tote from the GAP may be a better deal. Although I saw it this weekend in the store for $29.99 !!
So wierd, the prices online & in the stores always differ..

Luna, I went to look at these bags IRL today. The leather is very good for the price, but not as soft as the Bloomsbury line from F/W 05. The tangiers tote does not have a zipper, just a magnetic closure. If you are going to carry a lot of small things in your bag, then this bag probably isn't for you (if it tips over, all the contents will go spilling out past the center closure). However, the kempton simple shoulder bag that was also posted does have a zipper and is really pretty too. I was even more impressed by the chalk color IRL than online. It's a very nice white.

Whoa. I just came online to get your opinions on the Kempton Harness bag AND the Tangiers tote but I've been beaten! To be fair, I've looked at both of them in person and they're REALLY nice... I'm not usually crazy about Banana's bags, but the leather is gorgeous and they seem more durable than the previous Bloomsbury line....

So, my question to you is: which do you think is a more classic bag: i.e. which do you think will stand the test of time? I hate buying a bag which is too trendy - so I'm not sure whether to go with the harness tote or the plain tote (note: I am considering buying them in black)... any thoughts? thanks!

^I would say that the plain tote would stand the test of time better than the harness. The harness is a little bit trendier. I really like the plain tote!
