I'm looking for a bag that is similar to a Mulberry Bayswater but a little lighter in weight. Something of that size and structured, black and real leather. Simple and sleek, minimal embellishments. I also like the YSL muse but that's out of my price range. I'm looking for something under or around 1,000. Any suggestions?

Any recommendations for a bag to go with this dress, it's for a wedding and my shoes are nude. Not sure whether to get some in nude or go for something really stand-out!

I’m looking for the perfect bag as a surprise gift for my girlfriend (27 yo).

This is her current bag:



I know she wants something a little bigger (so medium size) and in black. The best option I’ve found so far is the Balenciaga First bag. It looks like her style and the size is perfect. The problem is its ~$1,200 and a little more than I wanted to spend, but still my best option.

Can anyone recommend any alternatives or do you think I should go for the Balenciaga?

the balenciaga is pricey but it's a classic that she can keep/wear forever as long as takes care of it...

and the resale value is good if she ever decides to sell it and buy something else..

however....
there are a lot of great basic black bags out there for far less money....
the first also might end up being a little small if she wants a medium sized bag...
the next size up.. the city.. is more of a medium i think....

I am graduating this year and my parents asked what designer handbag would I like to get as a graduation present, it has to be one i can keep forever and won't go out of style. What bag do you think I should ask for? or what bag would you pick?

No I don't have any designer bags at the moment but I love bags that I can wear dressed up or casual. I also prefer larger bags so that I can carry all my stuff in it. I really like the classic chanel bag but its to small. any ideas?

p.s. def. no bright colors, or with studs/fringes. I want to beable to have the bag forever.

^Proenza Schouler PS1 or a Givenchy? you might also like Bottega Veneta, but i think they're a little plain. and Balenciaga's out, it just doesnt see to have longevity.

i'm pretty much in the same boat as you actually. same preferences. but, i'm in high school. other than my backpack, i don't own any bag right now, and my pockets are worn from serving as a substitute. i really should invest in a bag. just one, that i can use for everything.

my first choice would be a classic Chanel, but dont think it'd be appropriate for someone my age to walk around with one of the world's most coveted bags just yet. but the future is a different story, and this bag, again, is an investment. also, i hate knockoffs. any advice?
