The Perfect Large Tote/Bag

I really need helP! I'm asking for a purse for Xmas and I really like big BIGGG ones. I want a leather one in dark brown or camel.. Nothing to hobo style though, and nothing with toooooooo much detail. Have any of you seen pics of any nice ones? I think a price range of $100-$1000 is good and it has to be leather. PLEASE POST PICS if you have any ideas!! thanks!!!

I my Anna Corrina city tote bag. It's about 20" x 20" and can be folded over to convert it from a tote to a shoulder bag (with shoulder strap). It has the most gorgeous distressed leather and comes in a warm camel (butterscotch) or deep chocolate brown (tobacco).

I ordered mine directly from the Foley Corrina boutique in NYC, but I believe that the bag is available online at activeendeavors.com, shopbop.com and other stores. It is roughly $350.

Hello all~
My boyfriend is allowing me a choice of a bag as an early birthday present and I would appreciate all your inputs.

I'm down for two brands: Chanel and LV.

I was thinking either the Chanel cambon small/medium tote OR
LV denim collection, particularly the pleaty. Any other suggestions from the LV line besides the monogram collection?

I'd like something to hear on the shoulders. As for size, I'm only 5'1 and under 100 lbs. so nothing too overwhelming.

Oh, he's given me a budget of $1200 (without the tax).

Helpful suggestions anyone?

I would go for a Chanel re-issue 2.55 225 version. It's slighty more at $1465 tax included. there's any even smaller 224 version that might be a bit cheaper but it's very small.. but the 225 is good as an everyday purse worn messenger style, or can double as an evening clutch.

1. what's the price for the small and medium tote?

2. can i wear the small one over the shoulder?

If you go for Chanel Cambon the get the medium one the small you can't wear over the shoulder. I like the choc brown.

Ok, after lurking here for a loooong time, I finally signed in tonight.

I'm hoping ya'll can help me with a recommendation... I tend to buy a LOT of handbags and use most of them a few times -- and others ALL the time. I've been carrying my LV Babylone for awhile now and ready for a change. This is what I'm hoping to find:

Long straps -- I hate short ones that have a purse jammed under my arm. (I would prefer a shoulder strap but might consider a handheld...)

Something classic -- I love LV and am looking at these of course, but would buy another name as long as it's made well and made to last and I love it.

Not too big -- my Babylone is rather large and at the same time its too narrow. (I think of all my handbags, this is my absolute favorite. Next is a leather tote-style bag with long straps from Hartmann.)

For more info, I am 44 with a 14-year-old daughter. I'd like to spend no more than $1000. I live in the Iowa country and mainly wear jeans and sweaters and even sweatshirts in the winter! Am not a city girl these days by any means but I get home to San Antonio occasionally and shop a lot in Minneapolis and Chicago. So I'd like something "classic" and still casual.

This is kind of what I'm currently looking at with LV:
Popincourt Haut - monogram
Druout - monogram
Musette Tango - monogram
Parioli - Damier
Marais - Damier
Alma - Damier

Again, I'm not stuck on LV -- it's just what I "know" the best. I even saw some bags on costco.com made by Longchamp that I liked. Heck, there is a Dooney at QVC that I love (item #A00024 - I can't get the link to work) -- in black.

Anyway! Would really appreciate any help. I can't believe I can't make up my mind!!! Thanks!

Thanks for the link and for answering me! Beautiful bags, but just not quite what I'm hoping to find... I went and looked at the costco.com Longchamp bags at the Longchamp website and may end up ordering from costco.com... I called and asked a store that since they aren't mentioning the dimensions (which I found most of anyway), I may order 4 or 5 bags and return the ones I don't want to the store. They said "no problem" with that.

Still looking at LV, too. eluxury sold out of the 2 I was most interested between last night and this morning so hopefully they'll restock!
