Handbag Recommendations

Welcome Stacey! I would recommend the bigger one. It's more classic. The plaque on the smaller is a bit of a turn off for me. Personally, I love the cream one, but it could be harder to keep clean. The black one is classic and versatile. As for the saddle, it could be a great neutral, but I can't seem to get myself to like browns. I don't know why, but that's me. Let us know what you choose! :flower:

Thanks for the welcome! I would post outfit photos but I lent my camera to my little sister who's away in Europe for a school trip :(
Anyway, I'm leaning toward the black or cream too. I already have several brown- and tan-ish bags; my everday one is a tan Coach tote from my parents. Anyway, I don't wear a lot of black but not by choice! I've worked at Abercrombie for like a year and a half and they don't sell black! But I miss it. Which do you think is more trendy for everyday use?

Oh good, so saddle is out. That helps. I think both the cream and black are great for everyday use, but black is more practical. It will last you longer and won't show wear as quickly. It doesn't matter if you don't have back clothes on or not. :flower: Wait, one more thought. Summer is coming...will you switch bags in the fall?

And on that note: No black in your wardrobe? I would totally die. I guess that's why I've never been in an Abercrombie! ;)

straw tote with leather handles

until i get my black croc birkin, i am on the lookout for a simple straw tote with long leather handles.

if anyone here has been in an anthropologie store, their shopping bags are EXACTLY what i want. not only are they not for sale, they won't even tell me the manufacturer.

ebay, bluefly, shopbop--nothing. the closest i've come is a j. crew one called the "medium straw beach bag" which is too small and structured when compared to the anthropologie holy grail.

thoughts? suggestions? flirt with an anthropologie employee?

i just have this feeling in my bones that somewhere on the cape there are old ladies making these by hand.

oooh! That is pretty. Thank you! :flower:

I would love to see a few others if anyone else has suggestions.

I've no idea if you're still looking for a clutch, but I suggest these Prada ones from Neiman Marcus:

i like those prada clutches but i can't help thinking they're overpriced

not crazy about those bright candy colors either.. :ninja:
i think more muted colors would be much more elegant...
the patent can sometimes cheapen the look by making things look plastic..

I have been in love with the Chloe Paddington for 3 years now and think it is safe to say that my feelings won't change anytime soon! Would you suggest I spend the money and get it somewhere like Neiman Marcus or do you think it is safe to get one for a little less on eBay?

The Paddington has been widely replicated, so my suggestion is, unless it's an original from the first run in 05 (superb leather!!!!), it would be wiser to get one from the department stores.
The Paddington is a great bag, I have mine for 3 years now and I still love it!

Laptop Bag seems to be a big trend!

Where do you get a cool laptop bag? Is the look or protection more important?

I use a very low-profile laptop sleeve that fits inside my nicer bags. Still, you want to be careful. Your nice bag has to be a strong one so it isn't damaged by the weight. Flight 001 has some nice ones sometimes. :flower:

^^^That is beautiful!!!

But...I've got great news...
I contacted Glorinha Paranagua's corporate office and they are going to custom make the Turquoise Bamboo Clutch for me!

Thank you everyone for all of your help...you have been so great and your suggestions have been beautiful. I guess you just know when you've found "the one" ;) :flower:

Aris – This one's for you! :flower:

My GP clutch arrived today and it's beautiful! It's slightly darker than I thought it would be, but it's still perfect. Thank you sooooo much for all of your help and suggestions. Please let me know if I can ever help you find anything.

looks so nice!!
congrats!

the vibrant blue color is really great with that bamboo sort of material ^_^

For laptop bags try Acme Made, the slim ones are nice. But the shoulder strap doesn't grip your shoulder so you have to wear it across your body or risk it falling off your shoulder, if you want to use the strap. I switched it with one from another bag I had.

Hey girls, I hope you can help me.

I'm planning to purchase this bag in the near future

But someone told me that the leather would be very thin and the material would seem/look pretty cheap. Can someone tell me about it? 800€ are too much for me as if I could afford a bag that looks cheap ;)

(Please ignore some grammatical mistakes, I'm German ;) )
