It´s funny I know I should like Toni as a top model: she´s tall, gorgeous, athletic, cute face and great hair and in a way very reminiscent of the supers of the 80´s but she does absolutely NOTHING for me. She´s just there, like Sara Sampaio or these girls who look the same, cute but nothing special. Very plain and beige personality too. She might be very nice and all but as a model she does not bring anything special to her photos or to the set. So the result is ok, but very bland.

Agreed! Karl knew how to bring out her best, but that's about it for me.

As for the covers, the first one looks very Camilla Akrans x US Harper's, and I want to like the 2nd one but there's too much going on. You have that gorgeous moon, the mountain backdrop, the flashy jewellery, and Toni's stare all vying for attention at the same time.

Vogue Spain should drop their new cover any minute now because it's generally on the same day as Harper's and Elle. Hopefully they'll win all of us over as they usually do.

Both covers look so unskilled in their efforts at cut-and-paste. But the 2nd can’t actually be a cover?!?!??!? It has to be the most inexcusably effort of a hackjob: You can clearly see the sloppy masking around her hair to produce that obnoxious purple hue. And LOL @the 'shopped blood moon… What is this, Star Wars…???

(I’ll take pregnant models over this, easily.)

I'm not familiar with this photographer but im sure HB can get a better talent for this... about Toni she must be liked at HB Spain this is the 4th time she is on the cover...She is an ok model like Bertrando3 said she has all the quality but there's something missing...

I guess I gotta agree. I absolutely adore Toni, but again as with everyone else something is missing, but I know she can do a cover well. This one just isn't it.

Yulia shoots regular filler edits for US Harper's Bazaar and her work relies heavily on digital retouching. It's a pity this one misses the mark because ultimately we need new people shooting covers in Spain and not Xavi Gordo or Mario Sierra every single month.

Yulia shoots regular filler edits for US Harper's Bazaar and her work relies heavily on digital retouching. It's a pity this one misses the mark because ultimately we need new people shooting covers in Spain and not Xavi Gordo or Mario Sierra every single month.

Well it looks like a wannabe Akrans.. i'm supposed they have a budget issue. In order to HB looks more forward Inmaculada needs or a) i assume she is loyal to her Elle team but ask more from them (Gordo and Sierra) or b) spot new talent and be a little more HF because some of the contents still looks like Elle tbh.

I didn't know you are spanish Benn, but do you know if there is conflict for talent search? i mean there are a good spanish photographers but i assume they are tied up with Condenast publications?

The new editor.... is not starting well

Toni has always been commercial. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It's kept her career alive for over 10 years. She started with high fashion as a teen, but her look changed into something more commercial when she matured. It's happened to many models who started young like Tanya Dziahileva and Chanel Iman. Unfortunately that's working against her here. She looks the same in all of these pictures. They should really focus on her strengths which is smiley and approachable. High fashion is not for her anymore.

Oh, I'm definitely not Spanish. Not a single dark hair on my body and I don't think I could ever get used to taking 3-hour naps in the afternoon. Just a regular magazine buyer who's more in favour of giving new talent the opportunity to shoot covers instead of the same old.
Regarding talent, I reckon just a matter of strategy, effort, and focus. Eugenia and Juan virtually removed Nico Bustos from their covers which was the best move yet. And instead, we are seeing more of Yeste and Thomas Whiteside, who oddly enough only shoot for Conde Nast in Spain, elsewhere they work for Elle/Numero. But the biggest feather in Vogue Spain's cap is giving a platform to Camila Falquez. It's not so much that her work is reinventing the wheel, it's more that they've managed to get an actual Spanish photographer on board who so many editors overlooked, and who is really bringing new energy to this magazine. Inmaculada and her team don't have any excuse, and I don't even believe budget is an issue. Not with so many photographers working right now.

I'm really quite indifferent to this magazine in general ever since she took over. What's she's doing isn't necessarily atrocious, and maybe 3/4 times a year there will be content that makes you go 'ooh', but for most part, it's a pretty generic just like most of the international editions where the only way to tell them apart is by the language they use.
