Has anyone ever asked you if your designer bag was a fake??

iono what it was...when we bought it at the lv store in valley fair it came with this little tag in the front..like it hooked onto the zipper i think? it was like a dark blue color? iono whatever it was, i thought it was meant to be thrown away, I didn't know people actually leave that thing on the bag...

nvm..its not the josephine its the lucille...hehe my bad..the josephine was the one that i thought was cute :D

I don't own any designer handbags. One day... one day....

Foxie-pooh, i do atmit i stalk people as well!:ninja:
if im out with my bf, i be like 'look! is that real?! let's follow her!' and then we do and kinda discuss.. this sounds mad.:innocent:

It is fun.

Though, i would never dare to go up to a stranger and ask if her bag was a fake, it's just not something i would feel was right.

 I do the same, it is truly amusing.
It's strange though when you do it with your family... Let me explain.

This cousin of mine... I think... we're related somehow.
I never see them, since they're kind of stuck-up. :innocent:
My family knows nothing about designer bags and the elders are baffled by the amount of money some of us spend. (My cousin thinks COACH, LV, and Dooney & Bourke are cool. :yuk::yuk::yuk:) Anyways, none of us really own designer bags, so I was questioning the authencity of my cousin's LV. I wasn't brave enough but my cousin just sparked up a conversation with her and it turned out that her husband bought it for her.

^^^haha how funny , i also do that same!! when i spot a bag i would kind of go up closer to the person just to check out their bag if it's real or fake. when it's fake, i'd nudge my bf and tell him 'look, that lady's bag is fake'. i do all the time and he think i'm crazy  i just have that urge to find out.. haha. but i never ask them if their bag is fake or not..caust that's just too rude.

haha! i tell my bf the same when I see a fake (I don't follow ppl to see if their bag is real or fake though, but fakes here are so bad they're easily spotable from a distance) and yes, he think I'm totally crazy:lol:

people here don't ask if my bag is fake, but they do ask if it's real - which is practically the same thing, right?

actually I love Coach - I've been using them for over ten years now.. but I WON'T touch D&B with a barge pole - yuck! remember when they were covered with ducks??

and it's a shame about LV, they have absolutely beautiful stuff but they are such a cliche now.

We all have different tastes.

COACH is fine with me. except those tiny logo bags- not a big fan of those.
However D&B , never.
As for the LVs: I despise those multicolored monogram LVs (sorry if I'm offending anyone), but I do have a place in my heart for some of the new designs. :flower:

It hasn't really happened to me...But my friend has an authentic bordeaux Balenciaga office bag....And she's super super rich (has a lot of nice things). She brought it to school, and ppl asked her if it was an Aldo bag. =P That's a shoe store which recently started selling accessories and handbags and they have one that looks like a Bbag but instead of a buckle on the corners they have zippers...SOOO ugly. My friend got so offended.... Coz that girl had an Aldo (Balenciaga inspired) bag and looked at my friend's bag in a haughty "mine is better than yours" way....

whenever i carry my LV monogram velours, people ask me if its fake. i guess its because very few people are familiar with that particular bag. since you rarely see someone with it. so people think that style doesn't exist, therefore, they think its fake. i don't get offended per se. i just politely let them know that this is what bag from what year's collection, if they like it. they're more than welcome to go to the botique and check it out for themselves.

omg! Although i don't own any designer bag I stalk people too! I'm so curious to see if theirs are real or fake! (Especially with LV... there are some disgusting... but kind of funny fakes out there that do not even say LV or have the same symbols... haha)

I was the first person in my group of girlfriends to own a designer bag (if you don't count Coach and Dooney) and I remember no one dare to say a thing when I took it out for the 1st time (guess they were in shock or something) but then after a long awkward silence, one of the girls finally blurted out "seriously... is THAT Burberry bag a real thing??" Then all eyes were on me. I said yes and they still wouldn't believe me until I calmly explained that it was a grad gift from parents. Then the same girl asked "so what about your Burberry hair claw? That MUST be a fake right?" (as if she was determine to find something fake on me). It was quite annoying by that time.

Then several months later at another party, that same girl asked me AGAIN whether my Burberry bag was real or not... by then I was quite annoyed so I replied "you asked me that same Q a few months ago!!!" (when I really wanted to kick her). When will they ever learn that some people just don't like carrying fakes??!!

Don't worry they're just intimidated.
I too, get irritated when people don't accept the fact that others have something they don't. I get envious sometimes when I see a girl wearing that coat that I can never seem to find () but I don't lash that out on her. Some people just don't have etiquette.:angry::angry:

:lol: I have to laugh, 'cause this is exactly what I posted about, a similar situation, here we have a brand called Friis (which is everywhere) and they used to have their own designs but now do "inspired by designer handbags". I've gotten looks on my balenciaga from girls with Friis "bbags" in that "mine is better than yours" way - and it's sooo annoying. They also have Friis "roxy" and "paddy". It annoys me so much, because many ppl dont even know that their Friis bag is a copy, so they kinda fool them into buying a fake, it's just that they haven't seen the real, so think the Friis one is the real.. It annoys me so much that actual store take in fakes.. we didn't use to have that here (to get a fake you'd have to go buy one off the street in a foreign country when on vacation) but now sooo many handbag stores do fakes :yuk:

I'll stop complaining about Friis now..:DI think this is my third post about them..but their fakes annoy me sooo much!

oh dear. she should tell her that her bag cost ten times what "Aldo" sells (and leave the fact that she is carrying one out of it)

not sure? if it is Italian, they pronounce "ci" as "ch"

like, Sicily, in Italian, is Sicilia, or, si-chil-ya
